Select Data to Create Logical Groups

You are able to generate a report based on complex Boolean logic using predefined filters for Diagnosis, Procedure, Medication or Template tabs. Using the Logical group, you can setup a report for all patients with a specific diagnosis or patients who had a specific procedure and were prescribed a specific medication. Note: Logical Group reporting requires that you have advanced knowledge of reporting within the NextGen application. For questions regarding advanced reporting information, contact your System Administrator. Setup desired filters for Medication, Procedure, Diagnosis, Templates, and so on. Select Procedure Data

Select Procedure from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Select to display the Procedure Search window. Procedure Search Enter a pertinent Code or Description as a search criterion. Select Search. Select the desired Procedures. Select OKReport Filter Select whether to display patients who have had problems within specific date criteria, for example: Patients who have never had the problem before or after a specific date or between a specific date range. Patients who have ever had a problem before or after a specific date. Patients who have not had this problem since a specific date. To select a date range, check Who Have Ever Had and select Between from the list. The Date Range window opens. Select the dates. Select OK. To select patients who have had problems before or after a specific date, do the following: Check Who Have Ever Had and select Before or After from the list. Select the Year/Month/Day. Select Diagnosis Data

Select Diagnosis from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Select to display the Diagnosis Search window. Diagnosis Search Select the pertinent Library. To further narrow your search, select the Category. Select whether you wish to search by ICD or Dx Code. Enter a Diagnosis search criterion. Note: Make sure to use the proper ICD Code for your search. If your Practice is using the decimal ICD Code, make sure to enter the ".". Select Search. Select the desired Diagnoses. Select OK. The selected diagnoses display in the Diagnosis Search pane. Select whether to Include or Exclude the displayed diagnoses. Select whether to display patients who have had problems within specific date criteria, for example: Patients who have never had the problem before or after a specific date or between a specific date range. Selecting Data and Generating Reports

You can select and filter various types of data to create your custom reports, including Clinical data (allergy, diagnosis, medication, procedure), Orders data (such as lab results), Templates data, and Patient data. You can select data to generate more complex reports, such as logical groups and stored procedures. For additional informational and for presentation purposes, you can select options on the Report Filter Settings List such as Sorting and Totals. Once the data is selected, you can generate the report. CAUTION: Selecting OK on the Report Filter generates the report. Therefore, when navigating between different modules or options when creating a report, do not select OK from the Report Filter window until you have selected all filters, data, report display options, and columns. Creating Custom Reports

Report Filter helps you to create the reports that best suit your needs. The Report Filter allows you set up the specific criteria used to pull data from a patient's chart and to create the specific filters to be used for your custom reports. Using the Report Filter, you can create and generate a detailed patient and/or data specific report. Selecting Report Columns

You typically select the patient demographic columns along with the report data columns after you have specified report data and before generating a report. For example, if you want to generate a Diagnosis report, you would first set Diagnosis filters; and then, select the columns. You would select the columns and filter the patient demographic fields, if necessary. Depending on the type of report you need to generate you can select patient demographic columns along with the report data columns. In some cases, the patient demographic columns could be selected before you select report data. For example, if you know you do not want to include information about deceased patients on the report, you could deselect that column before specifying report data. The selecting and sorting report columns options provide greater flexibility and the ability to easily customize each report to display the appropriate report data and patient information.
