Each patient is unique and the Immunizations module provides flexibility and efficient functionality to help you administer each immunization according to patient needs. After you determine which immunization the patient needs, the next step is to administer the specific Immunization order. Each order requires certain information about the vaccine and other pertinent information such as billing codes, registry, and special patient needs, for example Medicare patients. During the administration process, you can review the VIS history, print the VIS document, track the Immunizations life cycle for each order, and administer a vaccine not in the Vaccine Inventory. After you have administered the immunization, for your records, you can print the Immunization Summary report to view a patient’s immunizations. Administering Immunizations High-Level Workflow and Tips

To support your practice’s Immunizations administration process, determine which Immunizations workflow or task is appropriate to perform for each patient. The Immunizations functionality enables you to select the appropriate vaccines, provide vaccine details during administration, and track and complete each Immunization life cycle efficiently. There may be various scenarios a physician and clinical staff encounter when ordering and executing an immunization. For example, special patient needs, such as a VFC-eligibility, allergy sensitivities, or parental consent; billing considerations, available vaccines in the inventory, and ensuring the most appropriate vaccines are selected according to immunization schedules. Accessing and Reconciling a Patient's Immunizations Data

To help your practice maintain accurate health information, keep immunization schedules current, perform catch up when necessary, and reconcile patients’ imported Immunizations data from registry with their current Immunizations data from the patient chart. By selecting Reconcile on the Immunizations tab, you can open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Orders module. On the Clinical Reconciliation window, the imported Immunization data from registry and current Immunization data from patient chart display. You can then match registry data to existing NextGen® Enterprise EHR data. Once the match process is complete, you can view the reconciled immunization data on the Orders Summary tab and on the Immunizations Chart/Recommendation view. For each visit, you need the flexibility to work with the Immunization functions as each event occurs in real time. If needed, for example, you may need to do any of the following: View or hide dose exceptions when administering immunizations. Select and document Excluded Immunizations. Document that an Immunizations series is complete. Mark a patient who has no previously documented immunizations for reporting purposes and tracking. Report adverse events. To schedule, process, track, and complete your order more efficiently, you need to set up the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module to meet your specific practice needs. Once you set up your NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module, you can then update and maintain these settings as your business needs change and the Orders process evolves over time. Before performing Orders tasks, such as creating and sending Lab and Radiology orders, you need to set up the appropriate system rights, preferences, and tasks for the Orders module. Orders Module

You can use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Orders module to create and manage your lab and radiology orders (also known as diagnostic imaging orders). You can perform the following tasks from the Orders module: Place and send lab and radiology orders. Complete unfinished lab or radiology orders for a patient that originate from a bulk order generated through NextGen Care® Population Management Hub. Choosing advanced imaging tests by their appropriate use criteria (AUC) scores when you place a radiology order. Set up order filters for your practice or private use. Set up schedules for future and recurring orders. Add, view, and track order comments from different areas of the Orders module. Enter test results manually or view test results received from an interface. Send lab results to NextGen® PxP Portal.
