Formulary Search Requirements

The formulary search automatically replaces the regular medication search engine at run time. If you use the InfoScan formularies, in File Maintenance, you must set up a default formulary provider with the appropriate formulary code and then set up a formulary for each available payer. Note: If you do not set up a formulary for each payer in File Maintenance, you should consider setting up a default formulary provider used for any payer that does not have a matching formulary configured. You must set up each payer accepted by your medical practice with the appropriate formulary. To use the formulary search, the following conditions must be met: Formulary update (Surescripts and InfoScan) is applied to the NextGen database Note: The medication and formulary data must be updated on a regular, usually monthly, basis. Set Up Availability of Refill Request Matching

In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select PracticesThe Practices List window opens. Double-click a practice.The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. Refill Request Patient Matching Window

The Refill Request Patient Matching window handles the status of the refill request based on the person_id and NDC. The status is determined when opening the window using the following logic: Status Person ID NDC Unmatched Prescription X X Unmatched Medication X Unmatched Patient X Refill Request Patient Matching The availability of the Refill Request Patient Matching window is based on the Unmatched Refill Request Provider Medication practice preference: All Providers. The Filter By displays all providers, and the list shows all unmatched refill requests for all providers. Current Provider. The Filter By displays the current provider name, and the list shows all unmatched refill requests for the current provider. Assigned Provider. Unmatching eRx Refill Requests

If information from the issuing pharmacy does not match the data stored in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR database, a separate task is added to your task list on the Workflow window, in the Clinical Tasking tab. This task includes the current unmatched refill request. Workflow You can manually match patient demographics, medication, and prescription information, using the Refill Request Patient Matching window. You can also remove an unmatched eRx refill request task. Match Patient Demographics on eRx Refill Requests

When you receive an eRx refill request and NextGen® Enterprise EHR is unable to match the name of the patient with a patient in the database, the refill request task is listed with the Unmatched Refill Reqs subject. The Refill Request Patient Matching window enables you to create a patient match based on the patient demographics information in the request data and the data of the corresponding patient. If the patient is not available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR database, or if you cannot find a close match, you can deny the refill request without matching the data. Double-click an Unmatched Refill Reqs task, or select Unmatched Refill Reqs , and then select Open. Workflow The Refill Request Patient Matching window opens.
