Before you begin
You must have the necessary user rights to add an image to a category.
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can add an image to multiple categories, and you can remove an image from a category.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window.
- To open the Images module, do one of the following:
- On the Top Toolbar, select the Images
icon.
- On the main menu, select .
The
Open Image File window opens.
- Select the required image, and select Open.
The image opens.
- On the Top Toolbar, select Save.
The Save Image File window opens.
- On the Save Image File window, do the following:
- Select the Show categories check box.
The
Show categories pane opens within the
Save Image File window.
- Enter the image description in the Please enter image description field.
Note: NextGen Healthcare strongly recommends to save the images with consistent file names to make them available for reuse. Select the Add description to the list check box to add the specified description to the image. To select the previously saved image from the list, enter the corresponding file name or description in the Please enter image description field.
Note: Do not use any PHI information, such as patient name or SSN number to name the images.
- Select the desired format from the Save image as list.
Note: If your practice uses a default format for saving images, the Save image as list is disabled. Contact your system administrator about the availability of image formats.
- In the Show categories section, select a required category check box to add the image.
- Select OK.
The image is added to the specified category.
