When you run the Add New Task trigger to add a
NextGen® Enterprise PM task, you can link the task to an existing In-Progress encounter. An In-Progress encounter captures charges and transactions for work or care that has not been completed or delivered.
This feature enables you to:
- Avoid generating new encounters when an appropriate In-Progress encounter exists for a new NextGen® Enterprise PM task that you are generating in a NextGen® Enterprise EHR template.
- Ensure that all NextGen® Enterprise PM tasks related to a given In-Progress encounter are identified correctly so your business operations are not adversely impacted.
CAUTION:
If an In-Progress encounter ID is not available for return to the trigger, use alternate means to ensure that tasking can be completed.
