Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR Templates from NextGen Document Management

In NextGen® Document Management, you can select NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic and MRN templates, and then open them in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Document Management. Locate and open a document in the viewer. On the viewer toolbar, select a template from the list next to the Launch EHR Template button. Template Selection field Select the Launch EHR Template button. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR application opens the selected template. When you open a patient image in NextGen® Document Management while NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR is open, the patient chart associated with the NextGen® Document Management image opens in the other application. NextGen® Document Management also displays the image of the active patient. This sequence of actions does not occur when you access NextGen® Document Management with Clinical Context Object Workgroup (CCOW). To synchronize with the active patient, you can select Active Patient from the Tasks menu. From NextGen® Document Management, you can open NextGen® Enterprise EHR demographic and MRN templates. You can access images associated with encounters from the list of encounters that appears in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can include images in the workflow. You can right-click a task in the workflow and select the Open Patient's Document option to display the images associated with the task. Lock an Encounter

Before you begin Ensure that the Rights > Operations > Encounters > Lock Patient Encounter in System Administrator is set to True and the necessary access rights are enabled. To prevent changes or additions to a patient encounter, you can lock the encounter. You can create an addendum to add documents or images to a locked encounter. Note: If you do not lock the encounter manually, the encounter gets automatically locked within 72 hours, by default. You can change the default locking period by accessing File Maintenance > Enterprise Preferences General > Lock Interval tab, or Practice Master file > Practice Defaults tab. View Encounter Information

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to quickly view the contents of an encounter for a selected patient on the Encounter Details window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an encounter and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Select the respective link to view any document, template, module, or report associated with the encounter.The selected patient item opens in the main window of NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: If an encounter is locked, you can open the patient item in read-only format. You can update information for a locked encounter by creating an addendum or custom encounter. Associate a Case with an Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

You can associate a case with an existing Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an encounter. Select Encounter Options, and then select Properties. The Encounter Maintenance window opens. Select open menu , and then select Open Existing Cases. The Select Case window opens. Select a Case to associate the selected Encounter with or select New to create a new case to be associated with the selected Encounter. The Case Information window opens. Select Yes. Select OK. Create an Encounter

Before you begin Ensure that you have configured the encounter inheritance settings for Encounters on the Practice Preferences window in File Maintenance. When you have a patient chart open, you can create an encounter for the patient. Each new encounter may inherit information such as Encounter Details and Insurance from the previous encounter in the patient chart. You can add templates, documents, images, and other patient items to the new encounter. You can also assign insurance, enter remarks, and associate a program to an encounter. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. To create an encounter, do one of the following: On the Patient Information Card (PIC), select New Encounter. On the PIC, select Profile Options, and then select New Encounter. On the Encounter History tab, select New Encounter. From the File menu, select New > Encounter.
