Configure Network Impersonation for Storage Locations
- In Windows® Explorer, assign Share permissions for the folder that is set as the Network Share Location to only one user.
Make sure you remove the Everyone group from the list of groups and users who are assigned share permissions for the folder.
Note: You can use an existing user or create a user specifically to serve as the network impersonation user. You must create a user account to use solely for network impersonation. The user account created for network impersonation requires the Act as Part of Operating System permission. - Assign the user Read, Write, and Modify permissions to the Network Share Location folder.
Note: Make sure to assign the Modify permission to the user account used for network impersonation.
- Open File Maintenance.
- In Master Files, select System > Document Management, and then select Storage Locations.
The Storage Locations List window opens.
- Double-click the storage location that you want to enable the network impersonation for.
The Storage Location window opens.
- Ensure that you have selected the Doc Mgmt option.
- Select the Network Security tab, and then select the Enable Impersonation checkbox.
- Enter the network domain that contains the Network Share Location folder.
- Enter the username and password for the user who is permitted to access the Network Share Location.
Note: The credentials must be for the user that you have assigned the Share permission to.

Note: When a user other than the one set up for network impersonation attempts to access the Practice Archive folder from outside NextGen® Document Management, the system must deny access.
