Configure NextGen® Background Business Processor Preferences
Before you can set NextGen® Background Business Processor to automate NextGen® Enterprise PM processes, you must enter some basic application default preferences.
- Log into the NextGen® Background Business Processor Manager.
- Select File > Preferences.
The BBP System Preferences window opens.
- In the Excel export process list, select one of the following:
- To create the export file directly at the specified location on your computer, select Use standard Excel process (most common).
- To create the export file locally and then copy to the specified location on your computer with the use of NextGen® Background Business Processor, select Create locally, copy destination (rarely used).
- To choose the default printer, on the Printer field, select the ellipsis button and then select the printer.
Note: The list of printers from which you can choose is the same list of printers available to Windows ® operating system on your computer in which NextGen® Background Business Processor is installed. To increase the number of available printers, you must add a printer through the Windows ® control panel.
- To set the default location for the export file, on the File export location field, select the ellipsis button and then select a folder on either the network or the directory on your computer.
Note: NextGen® Background Business Processor converts network share drive letters to their corresponding UNC (Universal Naming Convention) names. For example, NextGen® Background Business Processor could convert Z:\ to \\Snoopy\administration. NextGen® Background Business Processor makes this conversion each time a network drive letter is specified for an export file.
- On the Export overwrite option list, select one of the following:
- Use the specified file name (and overwrite the file it exists)
- Add a timestamp to the file name (filename_yyyymmddhhmmss.ext)
- On the 'Run using' setting field, select one of the following applications to execute the Memorized Reports:
- PM/EHR
- ReportServer
- To specify the black out period for which no packages can run on the server, on the Database Blackout Periods for [database name] section, select the cursor in each day and time checkbox.
- On the Set the number of minutes a Queued Package should wait on a currently running Package on the same Server field, enter time.
- Select OK.
