Information Displayed in the Care Guidelines Panel

You can view and edit the information displayed in the Care Guidelines panel. NextGen Healthcare recommends you to be familiar with the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template for ease of use. Care Guidelines Paged View Active guidelines listed in the patient guidelines section: Patient's Guidelines section in the left pane lists all care guidelines that are currently being followed for the patient. Also called active guidelines. Badges next to each active guideline display the number of items for that guideline that are due. An item can belong to more than one care guideline. For guideline items listed in the panel: Orderable items have a check box. You must select the check box to place an order for the item. The Place Order button remains disabled until you select a check box. Care Guidelines Paged View Recommended Care items do not have a check box. Instead, they have Goals. Working with Orderable Guideline Items

You can order an guideline item for a patient using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items have a check box used for placing orders. Encounter workflow for orderable items, includes: Reviewing the next due date Reviewing the last completed date Updating the status Placing orders for any tests/exams that are due Update Status or Compliance of an Orderable Item You can update the status of an orderable item using the Care Guidelines panel. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Place an Order for a Lab or Radiology Guideline Item Using the Order Module You can place an order for a lab or radiology guideline item on the Order module. Assign a Goal to a Recommended Care Guideline Item for a Patient

You can select a goal to a recommended care guideline item for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Select the Click to select Goal link, and select a value from the list. Update the Status or Compliance for a Recommended Care Guideline Item

You can update the status or compliance for a recommended care guideline item for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Select the Status from the list. Care Guidelines The selected status appears in the Status field. The Compliance list opens automatically. Carecompliance Select compliance reported by the patient from the list. The selected compliance appears below the Status field. Care Guidelines Setup

On the Care Guidelines Setup template, you can set up the guideline test items. Care guidelines consist of orderable items (previously known as protocols) and recommended care items. Some guideline items are performed within a specific time interval, indicated by a date in the Due column. Items with due dates are ordered, and items without a due date are listed as a reminder to review them with the patient and update their status without having to place orders. Before you use the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines templates, you must review and ensure that the guidelines that come with the application meet the needs of the practice. For configuration, care guidelines are divided into orderable and recommended items. Using the Care Guidelines Setup practice template, you can set up orderable items. Configure the Recommended Care Guidelines

Before you begin You must set up the categories for recommended care on the Custom DB Picklists system template. For more information on configuring custom DB lists, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Custom DB Picklists System Template forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Recommended Care, and then select OK. The Recommended Care practice template opens. Select the condition or reason, type, and recommended care guideline. Select the goals, status, and compliance for the guideline in the corresponding grids, and then select Add. In the Recommended Care section, select Add. The added data appears in the Recommended Care grid. Note: You can update or remove a care guideline in the grid.
