Assign a Goal to a Recommended Care Guideline Item for a Patient

You can select a goal to a recommended care guideline item for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Select the Click to select Goal link, and select a value from the list. Working with Recommended Care Guideline Items

You can select a goal for a patient using the recommended care guideline items. Recommended care guideline items do not have a check box for placing orders. They have a blue link that directs you to select a goal for the patient regarding the item. You can change this goal later. Encounter workflow for recommended care items, includes: Selecting or updating goals for the patient Update status and patient compliance Recommended care goals and statuses listed in DB picklist are configured on the Recommended Care practice template. Document Recommended Care Items

You can add recommended care items as condition to the patient's guideline using the Recommended Care practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Manage Groups and Options panel and then select theRecommended Care link. The Recommended Care practice template opens. Enter the Condition, Type, and Recommended Care details. Add the Goals, Statuses, and Compliance details for the recommended care item. Select Add. The Recommended Care grid displays the new entry. Enter, Review, and Update Guideline Status

You can document the details for the patient on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item from the grid. Details for the care guideline fill in the fields. To edit the changes for information appeared for the guideline, do the following: In the Goal field, enter a goal for the patient or select from the list. Select the Status from the list. Select the Action from the list. Note: For guideline items that are ordered, fills in automatically. The Status and Action fields are read-only. Care Guidelines Select Update. The grid displays the updated Status. Note: To see the goal, select the item in the grid to display details in the fields. Configure the Recommended Care Guidelines

Before you begin You must set up the categories for recommended care on the Custom DB Picklists system template. For more information on configuring custom DB lists, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Custom DB Picklists System Template forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Recommended Care, and then select OK. The Recommended Care practice template opens. Select the condition or reason, type, and recommended care guideline. Select the goals, status, and compliance for the guideline in the corresponding grids, and then select Add. In the Recommended Care section, select Add. The added data appears in the Recommended Care grid. Note: You can update or remove a care guideline in the grid. Configure Compliance for a Recommended Care Guideline

You can set up compliance items for the patient's recommended care guideline. You can select multiple compliance statements. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Recommended Care, and then select OK. The Recommended Care practice template opens. Select a row in the data grid to add a compliance item. The associated goal, status, and compliance details appear in the corresponding grids. Select the compliance item from the list, select OK, and then select Add. The compliance is added to the data grid. To delete a compliance, select a row in the data grid, and then select Delete.
