Workflow Summary for Care Guidelines Grid View
You can review the workflow summary of care guidelines for a patient.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.
The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens.
- In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link.
The Care Guidelines grid view template opens.
- To activate one or more guidelines for the patient, do the following:
- You can activate a care guideline to track a condition, disease, and health maintenance for a patient. When a guideline is activated, it is ready for use.
Note: You can remove the mistakenly activated guidelines in the same encounter. Do not remove an active guideline with data. To bring back a removed guideline item, re-apply the guideline for a patient.
- Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel.
The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. - You can activate a care guideline to track a condition, disease, and health maintenance for a patient. When a guideline is activated, it is ready for use.
- To update risk indicators for health maintenance, select the Risk Indicators Health Maintenance link.
The gender-specific Risk template opens.Note: This needs be performed at an initial stage with the patient, information needs to be reviewed at each encounter and updated for changes. Risk Indicators Health Maintenance link is available on the:
- Care Guidelines template, in the Care Guidelines panel
- Activate Guidelines template, in the Active Guidelines panel
- Review the status for items in the grid.
Guideline items that do not display the status due in the grid, and are not addressed at a specific time interval. These listed items serve as a reminder.
- To update the status for guideline items, select a record in the grid, select the status, and then select Update.
- Review care guidelines for items that are due, such as labs and diagnostic studies.
The Status appears as due and orders are placed from the Care Guidelines panel. These items are sometimes referred to as care guidelines orderables (previously protocols). All care guidelines orderable items are updated, and provide references to support the start or stop ages, and time intervals.
- To place orders for care guidelines orderable item, select a record in the grid, and select Order.
Note: Labs and radiology orders are processed and submitted to the Order module. This is performed from the Recent Orders panel. From the Checkout template, the nurse or medical assistant or the front desk staff can perform order module processing.
