You can overview all the information for care guidelines workflow to document the details for a patient. The workflow summary for care guidelines includes an overview of all information that can be documented or reviewed for a patient. Not all information or panels are available on both of the Care Guidelines templates and consists of following panels: Care Guidelines The Care Guidelines panel appears on both the Care Guidelines Paged View and Care Guidelines grid view templates. Current active guideline items for this patient appear on the panel. Workflow Summary for Care Guidelines Grid View

You can review the workflow summary of care guidelines for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. To activate one or more guidelines for the patient, do the following: You can activate a care guideline to track a condition, disease, and health maintenance for a patient. When a guideline is activated, it is ready for use. Note: You can remove the mistakenly activated guidelines in the same encounter. Do not remove an active guideline with data. To bring back a removed guideline item, re-apply the guideline for a patient. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Activate the Care Guideline You Want to Follow for the Patient

Open the Care Guidelines template. In the Care Guidelines panel, click Add/Update. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Active Guidelines panel, click the Condition field. A list of all pre-configured Care Guidelines appears. Select the pre-configured condition in the list and click OK. If applicable, click the Diagnosis field to select a diagnosis in the diagnosis search window. The Diagnosis field is used to associate a diagnosis with an ICD code (used for billing) to the guideline. The selected diagnosis populates in the Diagnosis field and the associated code appears in the Code field. Click Add. The guideline activates and items that are associated with it appear in the grid on the Active Guidelines panel. Select the Due within check box and then select the number of days, weeks, or months from the Show only items due within window to display only the items due within a specific time period. You can follow a disease or condition and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The Care Guidelines grid view template displays only active guideline items that are due in a data grid in the Care Guidelines panel. Workflow on the Care Guidelines grid view template starts in the Care Guidelines panel. To use the care guidelines system with a patient, you have to activate a guideline. Then you can perform the tasks of reviewing and updating the status of individual guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel. To activate one or more guidelines for a patient on the Activate Care Guidelines template, do the following: Activate a care guideline to use it to follow a condition or disease or health maintenance for a patient. After a guideline is activated, it is ready for use. Note: Guidelines that are activated for a patient by mistake can only be removed in the same encounter in which they are activated. You must not remove an active guideline that has data. You can re-activate the guideline for the patient to restore a removed guideline item. You can record the activities for a disease, condition, and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template has additional functionalities that are not available on the Care Guidelines grid view template.
