Filtering Items in the Care Guidelines Panel

The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template enables you to filter what is displayed. Display Specific Active Guideline Item for a Patient You can filter display items for a specific guideline that is active for a patient. Filter Displayed Guideline Item Using the Check Box You can filter displayed guideline item that is active for a patient using the check box. Working with Orderable Guideline Items

You can order an guideline item for a patient using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items have a check box used for placing orders. Encounter workflow for orderable items, includes: Reviewing the next due date Reviewing the last completed date Updating the status Placing orders for any tests/exams that are due Update Status or Compliance of an Orderable Item You can update the status of an orderable item using the Care Guidelines panel. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Place an Order for a Lab or Radiology Guideline Item Using the Order Module You can place an order for a lab or radiology guideline item on the Order module. Workflow Summary for Care Guidelines Paged View

You can use the Care Guidelines Paged View template to activate an care guideline foa a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. To activate one or more guidelines for a patient on the Activate Care Guidelines template, do the following: Activate a care guideline to use it to follow a condition or disease or health maintenance for a patient. After a guideline is activated, it is ready for use. Note: Guidelines that are activated for a patient by mistake can only be removed in the same encounter in which they are activated. You must not remove an active guideline that has data. You can re-activate the guideline for the patient to restore a removed guideline item. Select the Add/Update button in the Care Guidelines panel grid. Select the Add Orderable link. The Personalized Reminder/Orderable template opens. You can add a personalized guideline for specific individual tests that you

Workflow for Care Guidelines Grid View

You can use Care Guidelines panel to perform tasks for every encounter with the patient. The Care Guidelines panel is where guideline items associated with chronic conditions or health maintenance are managed. Workflow on the Care Guidelines panel includes two different types of tasks, tasks you perform for every encounter with the patient which are part of normal encounter workflow, and those which are performed very occasionally. The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines grid view template displays active guidelines that are due for the patient in a data grid. To see the details for a care guideline item, select the row in the grid. Details for the guideline items appear in the fields. You can record the activities for a disease, condition, and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template has additional functionalities that are not available on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The activities performed during a patient enounter include: Activate a new care guideline Update a current active care guidelines Review, place orders, and update the status of guideline items Review and manage recent orders Review immunizations and track metrics Record immunization orders Review additional information that you may find helpful Decline or exclude a guideline permanently Decline or exclude a guideline for an encounter Reactivate or update a guideline that is declined or excluded in a previous encounter without having to reapply the entire guideline Modify individual active guideline items at the patient level. Care Guidelines Grid View

You can follow a disease or condition and health maintenance during a patient encounter on the Care Guidelines grid view template. The Care Guidelines grid view template displays only active guideline items that are due in a data grid in the Care Guidelines panel. Workflow on the Care Guidelines grid view template starts in the Care Guidelines panel. To use the care guidelines system with a patient, you have to activate a guideline. Then you can perform the tasks of reviewing and updating the status of individual guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel.
