Requirements

To generate cancer registry files, you must have these NextGen Healthcare applications installed and configured: NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.8.3 or above NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.5 or above NextGen® Clinical Message Manager 5.8.3 or above, with NextGen® HIE and the appropriate agents installed (purchased separately). Note: To have NextGen® Clinical Message Manager 5.8.3 with NextGen® HIE and the appropriate agents installed, contact NextGen Healthcare. Quality Reporting Compliance

To meet the 2015 Quality Reporting certification objectives, eligible providers must have the capability to identify and report cancer cases to a public health central cancer registry (except where prohibited) that is in accordance with applicable laws and practices. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers full support for the defined submission of cancer case information from CEHRT to a public health central cancer registry for the entire NextGen® Enterprise EHR reporting period using the HL7 CDA R2 Standard. A CDA is a document markup standard that specifies the structure and semantics of clinical documents for the purpose of exchange. This flexibility in practice workflows enable you to capture the case information from an organized and convenient location in the system. View HIE Document Category Items

Before you begin To display the HIE documents on the Categories tab, you must configure the Sent HIE Document Category option in the StoreHIEDocuments Rosetta agent. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can view the imported, and exported Health Information Exchange (HIE) document categories in the My Categories tab based on user-level configuration. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select .The My Patient History Settings window opens. Under the My Patient History Settings | Categories section, select Select Categories.A window opens displaying a list of available categories. To display the imported HIE documents, select HIE Documents category from the list. To display the exported HIE documents, select HIE Documents (Sent) category from the list. To display the HIE consent documents, select HIE Consent category from the list. Select Apply. Select Tree View from the list, and select My Categories tab

Generate the Cancer Registry File

When all required demographic and cancer staging data has been entered, scroll to the bottom of the Onc Treatment Summary template and click the Required Fields Check button. Diagnostic History The Missing Data template appears and displays a list of outstanding required fields that must be completed to generate a Cancer Registry report. Missing Data Record the list of missing data and then click Close. Enter any missing data. Close all open templates and modules. Right-click the encounter that contains the cancer diagnoses and select Lock Encounter. The NextGen EHR Security Lock Encounter window appears. Lock Encounter Enter your User Name and Password. Click Lock. The system generates the Cancer Registry Report and saves the file to the export folder designated in the Rosetta Cancer Registry File Export agent settings. View HIE Document Validation and PAQ Status

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can view the Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents CDA validation and PAQ status details on the Categories tab. Note: By default, Rosetta performs CDA validation automatically when an HIE document is imported or exported. If you want to disable or enable CDA validation, contact NextGen Healthcare support. Additionally, you can configure the CDA Viewer to perform HIE document validation in EHR. To configure the CDA viewer, you must use the General > Enable Automatic CDA Validation option on the CDA Viewer Configuration window. For more details, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest CDA Viewer User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise.
