Issuing Patient Education Documents

The Patient Education panel contains the education documents of a patient that are added to the patient's chart. You can print education documents for a patient by printing them or send the documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. When you save a patient education document to an encounter, NextGen® Enterprise EHR moves the document to the Patient Education grid in the Today’s Order panel. Edit Patient Education Documents The Patient Education grid in the Today's Orders panel displays the patient education documents that are added to a patient encounter. Make Education Documents Available to Patients Create Patient Plan Summary Documents You can create a patient plan summary on the Checkout template. Update Check out Statuses of Patients After you complete the patient's checkout process, you can update the status on the Todays Patient Tracking template. Managing Today's Orders

You can process lab or radiology orders documented by the provider on the My Plan template. You can add and edit an order in the Today's Orders panel. To place any follow-up order, you can use the Follow Up button. Several types of orders are available in the Today's Orders panel. The numbers next to the order types indicate the number of items in the queue for that type of order. In the beginning, you must select the order type, and then you need to select Add or Edit to open the respective order template to add or update the details. To place an order from the Orders Console template, you must select the Enable Order Module check box in the Orders/Plans section on the Practice Configuration template. Process Lab Orders You can process lab orders from the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. Managing Today's Orders

Process Lab Orders

Click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link above the Today's Orders grid. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders Select Labs or Radiology option. Click Vendor and select the appropriate vendor option from the list. Highlight the row for the order in the Order Hold grid. The Include selected order arrow appears. Click the Include selected order arrow to move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section. The Process/Submit and AOE buttons appear at the bottom of the template. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders Click AOE to answer any questions associated with the orders. Orders

You can add and manage the orders for a patient. You can view, process, manage, add, and place a follow-up order from the Orders panel. It also includes links to process lab and radiology orders, open the Order Management template, open the Immunizations template, access standing orders on the Office Services template, create tasks on the To Do template, and document the education provided to a patient. Orders Panel The View All Orders link is selected by default. The other options to view include Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. You can select a row in the grid and select Edit to open the Orders Edit template, and update the order details. The Education material provided section enables you to provide patient education documents and indicate if they are provided in the patient's preferred language and FDA approved. The Orders panel includes the ability to view, process, manage, add, edit, remove, and/or place a follow-up order. It also includes links to the process lab and radiology orders, open Order Management template, open Immunizations template, access standing orders in Office Services template, document about the patient education provided to patients, and create tasks in the To Do template, respectively. Orders The View of All Orders link is selected by default. Note: Although the Intake template contains the ability to document orders, the provider usually documents orders from the SOAP template.
