Test Codes Data Set

The Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup template enables you to configure the test names so that the orders and test results can be recognized by the system. Each item in the Test Codes data set is used for mapping a code or description used by a reference lab or outside service location where a study or procedure is performed to the user-friendly name used by the practice to refer to that item. CAUTION: Do not enter the code and description on the same record. You must have a separate record for the code and a separate record for the description. In the example below, Urinalysis has multiple records. Add Test Dates Data Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Dates. The existing data set items associated with the Test Dates data set appear in the grid. Test Dates data set Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Setup If applicable, click Diagnosis description to search and select a diagnosis. The associated diagnosis code automatically populates. If applicable, click Provider and select a provider from Dbp Rendering Provider. Enter the details in the respective fields. Click Save, and then click Close. The newly configured data set item displays in the Data Sets Setup template. Note: To add another item, click Clear For Add in the Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template and repeat steps 1 and 2. Fields on Test Dates Data Items

Following are the descriptions of the Test Dates fields: Field Description Template Name Enter the name of the template on which the test value is displayed when it is retrieved from the database. Test Name Enter the name of the test that is retrieved from the database. Test Type Enter the type of the test. The valid values are: Order: Indicates that the test values are retrieved from the Order_table. Lab: Indicates that the test values are retrieved from the Order (Lab) module. Proc: Indicates that the test values are retrieved from the Procedure module. The Test Type field in the data set indicates the name of the table from where the data can be retrieved by the stored procedure. Test Date Table Enter the name of the table where the Test Date is stored. This date is displayed on any template when retrieved from the database. Add Test Code Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Codes. The existing data set items associated with the Test Codes data set appear in the grid. Test Codes data set Click Add. The Template Data Sets Setup – [New Record] template opens. Template Data Sets Setup Click Test and select a name that the code or description will be mapped to from the picklist. The picklist displays the list of all test names currently available in the system. The name is used by the practice to identify an order, patient procedure, or lab. Click OK. Note: To enter a test name that is not listed, select the blank line that displays in the picklist and click OK. Type the name in the Test field. Enter one of the following: Codes - Enter the code to be mapped to. The entered code is used by the reference lab or outside study/procedure location to identify the test at their location for ordering or billing purposes. Edit Test Dates Data Set Items

On the Data Sets Setup template, click Data Set and select Test Dates. The existing data set items associated with the Test Dates data set appear in the grid. Highlight a grid to modify. Map the Test or Code Information on the Data Sets Setup Practice Template

You can map the test or code information using the Data Sets Setup practice template. Practices using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine 8.3.x and later, can map test codes and description to guidelines using the Test Codes data set on the Data Sets Setup practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Data Sets Setup and then select OK .The Data Sets Setup practice template opens. Select the Data Set field and select Test Codes from the DB list. Data Sets Setup Select the Test column to sort the list by Test Name, and then review the existing mappings for the guideline.
