Selection Types for Dynamic HPI Configuration

HPI Selection Type	Description	Illustration
Standard selection	Indicates a single selection. You can use the standard selection option for the details associated with the intro section. For example, name, age, gender, and so on.
Group selection	Includes Group 1 and Group 2. Each has a different meaning that concatenates into separate sentences.
Sub-selection	Gives you the ability to drill down to additional selections within a section. You can select the sub-selection items from the available lists. For example, in the Orthopedics specialty, ankle reason, if you select place of injury, an associated list of findings for the place of injury appears. One of those items is MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) which upon selection, prompts a sub-selection set related to motor vehicle accidents. After you have saved your sub-selection record, you have to highlight the item in the Findings grid, and drill down into the sub-selection set to add, edit, or update within that sub-selection.
Pop-up	Displays templates such as calendar, interval and numeric keypad. There are also History of Present Illness (HPI) specific templates, for such items as onset or frequency.
Clinical data/results	Retrieves the patient data from the database in the dynamic HPI template. While using the dynamic HPI template, after selecting an option from the section list in the left pane, the findings appear. If one of the findings has a clinical data result, you can click the finding to open the list. For example, clinical data results in the HPI are past medical history, past surgical history, family history, patient's current medication name, patient's current medication detail, patient's previous medication detail, patient's previous medication name, questionnaire and diagnostic orders in the order table or Orders module, and so on. The clinical data result appears in the concatenated sentence in the grid below the Prior Treatment grid.

Parameter Values for Selection Types

The following table indicates the picklist values display in the Parameter field on the Dynamic HPI Config practice template based on the Selection Type in the Findings section. When you click... Illustration If you select Group selection, the system displays a Group list. Select the required value. If you select Sub-selection, the Finding Grid Types list appears. These options are similar to the Parameter options in Sections. Select the required value. When you click, Group1/Group 2, provide a title for the Group 1 in the template. After clicking OK, provide a title for Group 2 in the template. If you select the Pop Up option, the system displays the Pop Up list. If you select the clinical data/results option, the system displays the clinical data results list. Select a clinical data result from the list. For example, if you select past medical history, medical, then you need to select a body system from the Body systems list. In the run-time, if the past medical history is available

Create New Findings for a Reason

On the Dynamic HPI Config practice template, select a Reason. Click the applicable section from the Sections grid. The standard selection type record appears in the Findings grid. In the Findings grid, click the Selection type field and select a value from the list. Findings Selection Type Note: The items in the list are based on the Selection type. Click the Parameter field and select a value, if applicable. Note: The only selection type that does not have a parameter is the standard selection option. Click the Options field and select the applicable items from the list. Note: The Options fields are only made available for the sub-selection selection type. Click the Caption field to enter a caption for the finding. Name Age Gender The caption that you create appears in the list on a dynamic HPI template. Dynamic HPI Findings for a Reason

The Dynamic HPI Config practice template enables you to build different findings based on the associated sections for each reason of visit in the Findings section. Findings The Selection Type and Parameter field determine how the findings are presented on the dynamic HPI. The documented value in the Finding Type field determines how the sentence appears in the dynamic HPI template: The mutually exclusive item displays the selected finding as a separate sentence within that section. The multichoice single item enables the user to select multiple findings to be concatenated into a single sentence structure. The multichoice multiple item enables the user to select multiple findings so that each finding has its own sentence structure. Orthopedic Dynamic Parameters

Each dynamic HPI template has a list of sections (for example, family history, lab data, and diagnostic data) with associated findings that you can configure in the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. There are several sections that are common to all of the Orthopedic-related dynamic HPI templates. Note: An asterisk (*) indicates that the section includes a freetext entry option to enter the appropriate data if the desired information is not available. Dynamic HPI Templates

Link a Procedure to the Dynamic HPI Content

On the Procedure Config practice template, expand the Procedure HPIs panel. Click HPI Reason to select the reason associated with the HPI content on the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. Click Procedure Site to select a procedure site from the list. In Procedure HPIs, click the following four fields and select a value from the list. Procedure Category Section Procedure Type Section Procedure Pretext Section Procedure Indication Section The list includes section names, section types and group numbers to identify which content you want to display in the run-time templates after the procedure site and dynamic HPI are linked. For example, If you select Procedure | Base Section | Group1 in the list, the system refers the Dynamic HPI Config practice template for section name as Procedure, which forms the base section that does not include any sub-selection values, and displays all of the group 1 values in the run-time dynamic HPI template.
