Parameter Values for Selection Types

The following table indicates the picklist values display in the Parameter field on the Dynamic HPI Config practice template based on the Selection Type in the Findings section. When you click... Illustration If you select Group selection, the system displays a Group list. Select the required value. If you select Sub-selection, the Finding Grid Types list appears. These options are similar to the Parameter options in Sections. Select the required value. When you click, Group1/Group 2, provide a title for the Group 1 in the template. After clicking OK, provide a title for Group 2 in the template. If you select the Pop Up option, the system displays the Pop Up list. If you select the clinical data/results option, the system displays the clinical data results list. Select a clinical data result from the list. Selection Types for Dynamic HPI Configuration

The Dynamic HPI Config practice template enables you to build different findings based on the associated sections for each reason of visit in the Findings section. The Selection Type and Parameter field determine how the findings are presented on the dynamic HPI. The Finding Type field determines how the findings are concatenated. You can choose from the following Selection Type options in the Findings grid: HPI Selection Type Description Illustration Standard selection Indicates a single selection. You can use the standard selection option for the details associated with the intro section. For example, name, age, gender, and so on. Group selection Includes Group 1 and Group 2. Each has a different meaning that concatenates into separate sentences. Sub-selection Gives you the ability to drill down to additional selections within a section. You can select the sub-selection items from the available lists. For example, in the Orthopedics specialty, ankle reason, if you select place of inj

Dynamic HPI Sections

You can set up a new section for a reason for visit. The sections are based on the reason, specialty, and provider. The EM Coding Element field enables you to assign Evaluation and Management (EM) coding points to a section on the dynamic HPI, when appropriate. Note: EM coding points are not calculated for Review of Systems (ROS) when the symptoms are entered on the dynamic HPI template. Copy a Dynamic HPI to Other Reasons, Specialties, or Providers

You can copy existing dynamic HPI content to a different reason, specialty, and/or provider in the Copy To section. Open the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. Select from the following fields to select the reason you want to copy: Reason Specialty Provider Copy to section In the Copy To section: Click the Reason field to enter a new reason or select the reason from the list you want to copy to. If applicable, click the Specialty field and select a specialty you want to copy to. If applicable, click the Provider field and select a provider you want to copy to. Click Copy. An alert message appears if there is pre-existing content where the item is being copied. Click Yes to confirm the action. Dynamic HPI Config Practice Template

The Dynamic HPI Config practice template enables you to configure elements for the dynamic History of Present Illness (HPI) templates. Each dynamic HPI template is linked to a specific reason for visit. The dynamic HPI templates that are packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine can be modified to meet the specific needs of a practice. If there is a need for a custom reason for visit, the practice can create a custom template. Data sets for labs, diagnostics, and procedures can be configured in the Section and Finding sections. New sections such as family history, lab data, and diagnostic data can be configured for a reason for visit. The new sections appear in the dynamic HPI template in the left pane under the Reason field in run time. The Contradiction setup link enables you to create guidelines that prevent users from selecting clinically contradictory findings. The Edit/Create new sentence link launches the Dynamic HPI Sentence Config template, which enables you to configure

Update an HPI Finding on the Dynamic HPI Config Practice Template

You can update an HPI finding using the Dynamic HPI Config template. Open the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. Click the down arrow in the Reason field to select a value from the list.Setup HPI The content for the selected reason appears in the Chief Complaint field and the Sections grid. Select a row in the Sections grid. The content of the selected section appears in the fields above the Sections grid. Also, the Findings and Dependencies grids appears with the associated content of that section. In the Findings grid, highlight a row in the grid. Select new values in the available fields as needed.
