Schedule Procedures
- In the left Navigation bar, click Surgery Scheduling.
The Procedure Scheduling template opens.
- In the Today's Assessment section, select an assessment. The assessments for the current date appear in the grid. If no assessment appears in the grid, click Add to add the assessment.
The selected assessment appears in the Selected Dx field.
- Select the procedure and the side where the surgery is to be performed.
- To enter a previously saved default set, click Quick Load and Save.
- In the Procedure details section, do the following:
- Enter the surgery date, provider name, and the location where the surgery is to be performed.
- If there is any internal reference, select Internal referral.
- Enter the time limit and complete time frame of the procedure.
- Enter the priority and the time required for the procedure.
- Enter the type of service and type of anesthesia to be given to the patient.
- Indicate if an assistant has been requested.
If you select Yes, select the surgery assistant, and enter any comments.
- In the Additional details section, do the following:
- Enter the additional details, such as the equipments required for the procedure.
- Indicate if pre-operative office visit is required.
If you select Yes, enter the time of visit.
- Select the appropriate option for autologous blood donation.
If you select Yes, enter the required blood unit.
Note: The body mass index (BMI) of the patient is automatically entered. - Select the post-operative visit due option, and enter any comments.
- To document the pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions, click Procedure/test instructions.
- To schedule the procedure, click Place Order.
The Select Task Recipients window opens.
- Select the providers in the list, and click Ok.
The procedure details appear in the Scheduled Today grid.
- Click OK.
The procedure details appear in the Order module.
