template opens.
In the

section, click the
Procedure/test instructions
link.

Procedure/Test Instructions
template opens.
Select the appropriate option to enter the pre-procedure or post-procedure instructions.
Click
Instructions by
, and select the name of the provider.
Select the appropriate option to display the test orders or test instructions in the
Select An Order
grid.
Select an order from the grid.
In the
Instructions
section, do one of the following:
Click
Available Instructions
, and select an instruction from the list.
Enter instructions in the
Instructions
field, or click
My Phrases
to select from the saved phrases.
In the
Additional Instructions
section, do the following:
Enter the medication, total dose, and the way of taking the medication.
Select the appropriate options for the preparations before surgery, and enter any additional information.
To add additional instructions, click
Save & Add New
.
To save and exit, click
Save & Close

Schedule Procedures
In the left Navigation bar, click Surgery Scheduling. The Procedure Scheduling template opens. Procedure Scheduling In the Today's Assessment section, select an assessment. The assessments for the current date appear in the grid. If no assessment appears in the grid, click Add to add the assessment. The selected assessment appears in the Selected Dx field. Select the procedure and the side where the surgery is to be performed. To enter a previously saved default set, click Quick Load and Save. In the Procedure details section, do the following: Enter the surgery date, provider name, and the location where the surgery is to be performed. If there is any internal reference, select Internal referral. Enter the time limit and complete time frame of the procedure. Enter the priority and the time required for the procedure. Enter the type of service and type of anesthesia to be given to the patient. Indicate if an assistant has been requested. If you select Yes, select the surgery assistant,

Document Pre-Operative Visit Details
On the Preop Visit template, you can record the health condition and recommend any test for a patient. You can refer to other doctors to make sure that the patient's condition is stable before the surgery. In the left Navigation bar, click Pre Op Visit. The Preop visit template opens displaying the assessment, orders, medication, and allergies details documented on the Intake and SOAP templates. Preop Visit To enter the surgery details, click Schedule Procedures. The Surgery Orders grid displays the details of the scheduled surgery. In the Consents section, do the following: Select the appropriate option after explaining the procedure details to the patient. Click Risk detail, and select the relevant pre-operative risks. Select the appropriate option for Agrees to blood/blood products? If you select no, select the Signed blood/blood product refusal form check box. Document Patient History for Post-Operative Visits
You can document a patient's history such as details of the last injection, pain, medications, and allergies for a post-operative visit. On the Non Billable Visit template, expand the History panel. Enter the details of the last injection in the following order: Click the Last Inj field, select the last injection date, and then click OK. Enter the duration of the relief in hours, days, weeks, and months. Enter the details of pain as follows: Indicate the severity of the pain. Click the Pain Scale field, and select the pain scale from one to ten from the list. Click the Status % field, select the percentage of the pain status, and then click OK. Add a Procedure Order During Procedure
The created procedure orders appear in the Today's Procedure Orders grid. Open the ASC - Physician Procedure template. In theProcedure Orderssection, from theProcedurelist, select the procedure for which you want to place the order. The list includes all the procedures entered in theProceduresection of theASC - Intaketemplate. Select type and category of the procedure order. All the preconfigured procedure orders matching the selected type and category appear in the grid. Procedure Orders To add a preconfigured procedure order, select it from the grid. To sign the procedure orders automatically on moving to the Today's Procedure grid, select the Sign Procedure Orders when added to Today's Orders check box. Note: When you select medication procedure orders, the drug interaction window containing all the interactions for the selected medication opens. Updating Surgery Order Details
You can update the details of a surgery order on the Surgery Order Management template. The following table describes the fields that can be updated on the Surgery Order Management template. The read-only fields on the Surgery Order Management template display the details of surgery orders from the Surgery Sched template. Field Description Authorization You can click Get, and select the authorization number from the Authorizations window. You can also manually enter the value in the Authorization field. Labs You can select the appropriate option for ordering labs prior to a surgery. Testing You can select the appropriate option for ordering tests prior to a surgery. Meds You can click the Meds Complete check box to indicate that the medication details are entered. Appointment With For the clearances documented on the Surgery Sched template, you can add the appointment details. To verify the procedure orders automatically on moving to the Today's Procedure grid, select the Verify Procedure Orders when added to Today's Orders check box. Note: When you select medication procedure orders, the drug interaction window containing all the interactions for the selected medication opens. You must acknowledge the interactions to proceed with the order. The details of the selected procedure order appear in the relevant fields. Make the desired changes in the fields. Click Add.
