Enter, Review and Update Historical Test Performed Previously using the Diagnostic History Entry Template

You can use either of the two workflows to enter, review, and update historical tests performed previously. On the Diagnostic Studies Entry template, you can review, update, comment on items that were entered by other staff members. The advantage of using the Historical Test Quick Entry template is that the workflow is condensed. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Diagnostics link. The Diagnostic History Entries template opens. Diagnostic History Entry The diagnostics history grid displays historical information for diagnostic studies performed. To add diagnostic history, do the following: In the Diagnostic study type field, select a study type from the list. In the Diagnostic study field, select an option from the list. Enter, Review, and Update Guideline Status

You can document the details for the patient on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item from the grid. Details for the care guideline fill in the fields. To edit the changes for information appeared for the guideline, do the following: In the Goal field, enter a goal for the patient or select from the list. Select the Status from the list. Select the Action from the list. Note: For guideline items that are ordered, fills in automatically. The Status and Action fields are read-only. Care Guidelines Select Update. The grid displays the updated Status. Note: To see the goal, select the item in the grid to display details in the fields. Tasks Performed for Care Guidelines at Each Encounter

You can perform the tasks for care guidelines for each encounter of a patient. Tasks performed in the Care Guidelines panel for every patient encounter include: Reviewing and updating the status of guide items at each encounter Placing orders for orderable items Reviewing and updating diagnostic studies performed previously In this section, the steps for tasks that are performed for care guidelines at every encounter are described in detail. If there are due items, the Care Guidelines link displays a badge with the number of items due. All guideline items for the patient appear in the Care Guidelines panel. Items with Status due are items that can be ordered, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Care Guidelines Workflow Summary

You can overview all the information for care guidelines workflow to document the details for a patient. The workflow summary for care guidelines includes an overview of all information that can be documented or reviewed for a patient. Not all information or panels are available on both of the Care Guidelines templates and consists of following panels: Care Guidelines The Care Guidelines panel appears on both the Care Guidelines Paged View and Care Guidelines grid view templates. Current active guideline items for this patient appear on the panel. Note: The Care Guidelines panel has a different appearance and slightly different functionality when it is on the Care Guidelines Page View template from how it appears on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Review and update guidelines and reminders at every encounter with the patient: Review and update goal, status, and compliance for care guideline items. Place Orders through Quick Entry

From the obstetric group of panels, you can select and order a test. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a female adult patient record, and then create an encounter. On the Intake template, and then select the specialty as Obstetrics and visit type as OB Prenatal. Open the Prenatal Details template and expand the respective obstetric group panel. Double-click the test name in the grid. The Historical Test - Quick Entry template with the selected test name opens. Select the Test Description from the left pane. The test description and test code appear on the right pane. Select a date in the Date done field. Enter the Interpretation and Results details. View Run-Time Result of Adding Test Codes Data Set

In the run-time Intake template, select Specialty as Family Practice and Visit Type as Office Visit. Under the sub-navigation bar, click Care Guidelines link. The Care Guidelines template opens. In the Clinical Guidelines panel, click Add/Update. The Activate Clinical Guidelines template displays. Click Condition and select Hypertension from the resulting list. Click Diagnosis and select a diagnosis. Click Add. Click Save & Close. In the Care Guidelines template, the added condition is displayed in the blue pane. The grid displays several orders that are marked as due. Click OK. In the sub-navigation bar, click the Procedures link on the Intake template. The Procedure template opens.
