Add Medications to a Medication Class

The medication classes available in the Medication Classifications practice template display in the Medication Classes grid. You can define new medication classes by adding them to the medical_classification Db picklist on the Custom DB Picklists system template. The newly defined medication class will display in the Medication Classes grid. For more information about creating a custom Db picklist refer to the Custom DB Picklists System Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The associated medications display in the Medication List grid. Use free text to type in a medication in the Search field and click Search. Medication Classes

The Medication Classes grid on the left of the template displays the default medication classes available in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Medication List grid in the center displays the list of medications associated with a medication class. Selecting a medication class in the Medication Classes grid displays the associated medications in the Medication List grid in the center. The practice template enables you to add or remove medications associated with a medication class. These changes are specific to a practice, and do not duplicate for other practices. Note: The Medication Classifications practice template is practice specific. The updates made to the medication classes in one practice do not carry forward to other practices. Some of the Medication Classes are also used for Quality Reporting, so modifying the classes may affect the Quality Reporting reports as well. Remove a Medication from the Reviewed Grid

To remove a medication from the Medication Review grid, select the medication and click Remove. This moves the medication back to the Medication List. Parent topic: Reconcile Medications

Modify Medication Search Favorites List

Open the Medication Search window. Medication Search window Select a favorites list. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Rename Group. Enter a new name for the favorites list. Right-click the tab or tab display pane and select Make Group Default. To remove a medication from the list, right-click the medication and select Remove. The Medication Module message opens asking you to confirm if you want to remove the medication. Do one of the following: To delete the selected medication from the favorites list, select Yes. To retain the selected medication on the favorites list, select No. To exit without removing the medication, select Cancel. Delete a Medication

You can delete a medication and instructions from a category picklist. On the IORTS Cfg Surgery Schedule system template, expand the Pre & Post Op Medication Instructions panel. In the Category grid, select the desired category. All the available medications and corresponding instructions for the selected category appear in the right grid.
