Access the Group Therapy Progress Note

A new Group Encounter must be created to access the BH – Group Therapy Progress Note template. Alternatively, the group encounter may be opened from the NextGen® Enterprise PM application. From the File menu, select New and then select Group encounter. Group Encounter Choose a patient group and click OK. On the Top Toolbar, click the Templates icon. Enter Group Information

Data that is pertinent to the entire group is entered on the Group Information panel. The information automatically appears on all of the client charts who are a member of this group. To document the group information in the Group Information panel, click the Name of group field to enter a value. Set a Date based on the day that the group meets. In the Duration field, select the number of minutes or hours. Enter the No. of attendees. To indicate the group is held offsite, place a check mark next to Offsite and type a description in the associated field. In the Co-facilitators section, click the Co-facilitator #1 name field to type a description. Type a value in the Co-facilitator #2 name field. In the Teaching Methods section, place a check mark next to one or as many of the following teaching methods as apply: Audiovisual Demonstration Group discussion Handout material Homework assignment Role-play Other In the Evidence of learning section, click the Skill building/understanding field

Complete Behavioral Health Billing

For a group encounter, billing can be applied at the individual or group level. Data entered or modified in the group section appears for every member and cannot be modified at the individual level. The Start and End time buttons are available in both of these sections and on the Program Name panel for a group note. The values documented in either place are immediately reflected in the same fields on the other section. Entered times can be modified by clicking in the field. If desired, you can document the time values at a later date. It is important to follow the established format: 00:00 AM or PM. Navigate to the Signatures panel on the BH – Group Therapy Progress Note template. Do one of the following actions in either the Group or Individual section: Click the clock to enter the current value in the End time field. In the field, click to type the time that marks the end of the exam. The read-only Duration field fills with the calculated duration value after the entry of the End tim

Enter Document Signatures

Multiple people may be required to sign a treatment plan. Security on the Signatures panel is set up so that only the person who checks a signature line can alter it in any way. The name of the user who is logged on to the computer populates in the name field, along with the date of the signature. After ‘signing’, the signer clicks on the Send Task button in the upper right of this panel. The template is sent to the next person who has to sign off. Electronic signature software can be used to capture the signature for client and/or parent/guardian. To enter signatures on the Signatures panel, place a check mark next to the applicable label(s). Enter any Credentials to further identify a signature as needed. Select N/A to indicate that a signature is not applicable and clear the fields of anything that may have been entered in the same row. Sign the Behavioral Health Document

Multiple people can sign the Behavioral Health document utilizing the Signature panel. Security on the Signatures panel is set up so that only the person who checks a signature line can alter it in any way. The client and/or parent/guardian’s signatures can be captured with electronic signature software. To document your signature in the Signatures panel, place a check mark next to the appropriate label. The current user’s name fills the Name field and the current date populates the date of the signature. Enter your Credentials. Select N/A to indicate that a signature is not applicable and to clear the fields of anything that may have been entered in the same row. Click the Send Task button to forward the template to the next person who needs to record their signature. If your signature does not fall under the preset options, enter your Name and Credentials in the Additional Staff section. Enter Comments as needed. Click Add.
