Managing Patient Care Guidelines

Using a work list, you can view, manage, plan, and track a patient's care guidelines and other administrative tasks and complete them on time. When you apply filters on the Pre Visit Planning template, it does not impact the Work List panel. You can use the Care Guidelines template to verify or update the information related to clinical guidelines, screening questions, metrics, vital signs, immunizations, nutrition, drug therapy, and recent orders. The Care Guidelines section includes a view-only grid which contains guideline items documented on the Care Guidelines template. You can use the Filter field to view information based on the patient's conditions. The filter selections only affect the information in the grid within the Care Guidelines section. Prepare for a Patient Visit

You obtain an overview of the patient's record before examining the patient. The Pre Visit Planning template also enables the practices to handle the administrative tasks before a patient's appointment, so that you can focus on addressing the patient's health needs during the appointment. To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Pre Visit Planning and select OK. The Pre Visit Planningtemplate opens. Manage and Configure Pre-Visit Details

During an encounter, the Pre Visit Planning template enables the clinical staff and provider to review the summary of the patient's chart and take necessary actions to prepare for an upcoming visit. The template also documents administrative tasks that need to be accomplished before a patient's appointment so that the provider can focus on addressing the patient's health needs during the visit. Pre Visit Planning The Work List panel addresses guideline or care plan items associated with the patient that can be added to the work list to be tracked. The Other section in the Work List panel includes a list of items (with check boxes) to track important details and actions related to the patient care. The Other section includes ten work list options that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine . You can also add up to five new options directly on the template in run time. Pre Visit Planning

You can use the Pre Visit Planning template to review the summary of a patient's chart and take the appropriate steps to be prepared for an upcoming visit. The details in the Pre Visit Planning template are updated with the data from various templates to provide an overall preview of the patient's records before a patient's appointment. The information in this template is maintained by the clinical staff and used by the providers. Open the Pre Visit Planning Template

To open the Templates module on a patient encounter, do one of the following: On the Categories or Encounter History tab, select Open Template. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . On the main menu, select File > New > Template. The Select Template window opens. For Medical Records, select All. Scroll down and do one of the following: Double-click Pre Visit Planning. Select Pre Visit Planning and click OK. The Pre Visit Planning template opens. Filtering Pre Visit Planning Information You can filter the details on the Pre Visit Planning template, to quickly get the desired information. Reviewing and Modifying Patient's Problems

You can review and update a patient's clinical problems in the Problems List panel on the Pre Visit Planning template. The details in the grid are updated automatically when you add any detail in the Problems module. To view the patient's chronic conditions and the items that you are tracking in the grid, you must select the Show chronic and Show my tracked problem check boxes. Problem List You can sort the grid items based on the following: Last Addressed Date Onset Date Provider You can view all resolved problems for the patient by selecting the Include resolved option at the top of the grid. Select the Resolve Condition option to indicate that the patient's problem is resolved.
