Order Processing for Guideline Items

You can process the order placed for care guidelines for a patient. You can process orders placed for labs and radiology diagnostic studies and submit to the Order module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. A link to this template is available on the following templates: Template Link Care Guidelines Lab/Radiology Order Processing Checkout Lab/Radiology Order Processing My Plan Labs/Diagnostics/Radiology Orders Module Processing Labs Order Module Processing Diagnostics Order Module Processing You can perform order processing for guideline items from the Care Guidelines template after orders are placed or from the Checkout tab template as part of the process of checking the patient out at the end of the encounter. You can also perform order processing from the My Plan template, along with other items ordered. Place an Order for Lab or Diagnosis in the Care Guidelines Template

Review the guideline items in the Care Guidelines panel at each encounter. Items with status due are the items that can be ordered, such as labs and diagnostic studies. Highlight a guideline item to be ordered in the grid. Details for the guideline populate in the respective fields above the grid. Click the Order button. The item's status is updated to display ordered and the Action field display the date ordered. If you have recommended care items in the grid, select a recommended care in the grid. Do any of the following: In the Goal field, type a goal for the patient. Click the blue down-arrow and select a goal from the list. Click the Status field and select the status of the recommended care. Click the Action field and select the action performed for the recommended care. After placing orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, it is important to process the orders by selecting which lab or radiology facility will perform each test and submit the orders to the Orders Module

Place an Order for a Lab or Radiology Guideline Item Using the Order Module

You can place an order for a lab or radiology guideline item on the Order module. You can order lab and radiology orderable guideline items that are due from the Order module when the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section on the Practice Configuration practice template is selected. Home Page The information on how to configure the Care Guidelines Paged View template to enable the direct placement of orders for guideline items from the Order module is as below: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Care Guidelines Paged View template, review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font Items that are due in the future display a date in black font Select the check box to the left of the lab or radiology guideline item you want to order. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item

You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items that are due, display the date in red font in the Next Due field. A yellow alert icon appears to the left of the date. The Status field appears as due. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font. Items that are due in the future display a date in black font. When you first activate a care guideline, items that are not due at a future date automatically display today’s date by default. To sort guideline items by next due date, you can select the active text Next Due column header. Select the check box to the left of the guideline items you want to order. Place Orders from the My Plan Template

You can place orders for the patient using the My Plan template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Expand the Recent Orders panel and select Add. The My Plan template opens. My Plan The My Plan template displays order items in the set appropriate for the selected assessment’s diagnosis category. To use a different template in the orders set, select the tab corresponding to the template to use (for example, Labs or Diagnostics). To add or change a diagnosis in the Today's Assessments grid, select Add or Edit. To change the current working assessment, select the diagnosis addressed for this encounter in the Today's Assessments grid. The selected diagnosis appears in the Selected Dx field. It becomes the new working assessment that carries forward to the other templates that share the

Enter, Review, and Update Guideline Status

You can document the details for the patient on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item from the grid. Details for the care guideline fill in the fields. To edit the changes for information appeared for the guideline, do the following: In the Goal field, enter a goal for the patient or select from the list. Select the Status from the list. Select the Action from the list. Note: For guideline items that are ordered, fills in automatically. The Status and Action fields are read-only. Care Guidelines Select Update. The grid displays the updated Status. Note: To see the goal, select the item in the grid to display details in the fields.
