Configure Physical Therapy Goals

From the File menu, select System/Practice Template. Click the Practice tab. Set Show to All. Scroll down and double-click PT Goal Administration. The PT Goal Administration template opens. Goal Administration Click the Template name field to select the name of an HPI or PE template from the list. Click the Table field to select the name of a table from the list. Click the Field field to select the name of the field from the list. Click the Goal type field to select the type of goal from the picklist. Click the Custom description field to type in a description. Click the Value mask field to type in a numeric value. Click the Value translation field to enter an interpretation for the value entered in the Value mask field. Click the fields for Normal values and enter one or more normal values for the goal. By default, the Normal values fields display ‘NULL’. Up to four normal values can be entered by replacing the value NULL. If not using a normal value field, it should be left displayin

Configuration Options

Review the configuration options and decide what you need to implement to enable you to complete the workflows outlined here. You can configure the following practice templates for the Physical Therapy specialty: Physical Therapy Goal Administration: Enables you to edit or add new existing physical therapy goals. Practice Configuration: Enables you to enter expected treatment times by visit type. In addition, you have options for applying billing modifiers. The ability to use the third-party service provided by Physiotec directly from within the Physical Therapy template set also needs to be configured before using the templates. Therapy Goals

The Therapy Goals sub-navigational link launches the Therapy Goals template where goals are documented. Documenting patient goals has been simplified by automating the population of goals in the template based on information documented for reason for visit, History of Present Illness (HPI), and physical exam for the patient. Examples of data that populate in the grid include observation, strength, and pain. Physical Therapy goals are packaged with the system and can be configured on the PT Goal Administration practice template. Therapy Goals can also be reviewed and updated in the Goals panel on the Objective tab. Enter New Therapy Goals for the Patient

Therapy goals are based on information documented for the reason for visit, History of Present Illness (HPI), and physical exam for the patient. Preconfigured therapy goals configurations are packaged with the system. Clients can add customized goals and modify or remove existing ones. Goals can be added, updated or removed. On the Objective template, on the Goals panel, click the Add button to launch the Therapy Goals template, which displays accumulated goals listed in the Available Goals grid. Therapy Goals Highlight a row in the Available Goals grid to select a goal. Click the Goal type field and select the type of goal from the picklist. The remaining fields display additional details for the goal. Click the Weeks field and select the number of weeks to reach the goal, if appropriate. Click Add. The Added goals grid displays the new goal. Click Save & Close to return to the Objective template. The information appears in the Goals panel. Parent topic: Patient Goals

Update an Existing Goal

On the PT Goal Administration template, select the goal to be modified in the Saved available goals section. The details of the goal populate the fields in the Field Selection section above the grid. Physical Therapy Home Page Template Details

The practice can customize the panels displayed on the Home Page - Physical Therapy template. The following table describes the panels on the template. Panel Description Diagnosis Lists all the assessments to be included in orders and billing. You can view billing assessments for the current encounter, including ICD codes. Goals Displays patient's therapy goals documented by the provider in the Therapy Goals template. Treatment History Displays the treatment hisory details related to the patient. Historical PE Displays the Historical PE details. Treatment Log Displays the patient's treatement details by encounter. Lists the patient's encounter diagnosis, treating assessments, and a history of treatments in a flowsheet format, organized by the encounter date. Allergies Lists the allergies associated with a patient. Medications Lists the patient's current medications.
