Physical Therapy

You can use the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to document visit types for both Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Configure Physical Therapy Goals

From the File menu, select System/Practice Template. Click the Practice tab. Set Show to All. Scroll down and double-click PT Goal Administration. The PT Goal Administration template opens. Goal Administration Click the Template name field to select the name of an HPI or PE template from the list. Click the Table field to select the name of a table from the list. Click the Field field to select the name of the field from the list. Click the Goal type field to select the type of goal from the picklist. Click the Custom description field to type in a description. Click the Value mask field to type in a numeric value. Click the Value translation field to enter an interpretation for the value entered in the Value mask field. Click the fields for Normal values and enter one or more normal values for the goal. By default, the Normal values fields display ‘NULL’. Up to four normal values can be entered by replacing the value NULL. If not using a normal value field, it should be left displayin

Physical Therapy Goal Administration

Therapy goals used on the Therapy Goals template are configured on the PT Goal Administration practice template. Therapy goals are based on information documented for the reason for visit, History of Present Illness (HPI), and physical exam for the patient. Preconfigured therapy goals configurations are packaged with the system. You can add customized goals and modify or remove existing ones. Configuring goals requires knowledge of the template name and the field name that you wish to use for creating a goal. Fields in the Field Selection section at the top of the template are used to add or update goals in the grid. Configured goals appear in the Saved available goals grid. Patient's Summary Review for Physical Therapy by the Intake Staff

The information documented by the intake staff in the Intake and Histories templates during the previous patient encounters is reflected on the Home Page - Physical Therapy template for the provider's review. Most clinical staffs start on the Intake template. The recommended workflow for Physical Therapy is to begin a patient encounter on the Home Page - Physical Therapy template. If you have previously set up the Home Page - Physical Therapy template as the default template, it automatically opens as the first template for a new encounter. To learn how to set the Home Page - Physical Therapy template as the default template, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Getting Started User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Goals, Treatment History, Historical PE, Treatment Log and Orders panels display information as read-only. Physical Therapy Home Page Template Details

The practice can customize the panels displayed on the Home Page - Physical Therapy template. The following table describes the panels on the template. Panel Description Diagnosis Lists all the assessments to be included in orders and billing. You can view billing assessments for the current encounter, including ICD codes. Goals Displays patient's therapy goals documented by the provider in the Therapy Goals template. Treatment History Displays the treatment hisory details related to the patient. Historical PE Displays the Historical PE details. Treatment Log Displays the patient's treatement details by encounter. Lists the patient's encounter diagnosis, treating assessments, and a history of treatments in a flowsheet format, organized by the encounter date. Allergies Lists the allergies associated with a patient. Medications Lists the patient's current medications.
