Perform a Skin, Oral, or Medication Challenge Test

You can perform a skin, oral, or medication challenge test for a patient in the Challenge Tests panel.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. On the Testing - Allergy template, expand the Challenge Tests panel.
3. After entering baseline vital signs for the challenge test, administer the first dose of the test.
4. To document the allergen administration time, do one of the following:
   • To record the current time, select the stopwatch icon for the Time field under Administration.
   • To enter a different time, select the drop-down arrow for the Time field and use the Time Entry window to enter the time.
5. Select the drop-down arrow for the Amount field to enter the amount of allergen administered.
6. Select the blank field next to the Amount field and select the measure of the amount administered.
7. Select Add.
   Note: Each entry appears at the top of the grid, below the baseline values, for easy comparison to the baseline values.
