Parameter	Description
Intro	Includes the introduction and the purpose of the patient visit. You can select either initial visit or follow up visit type for the chief complaint.
Onset	Includes options to select the onset date or period, and the age of onset of the chief complaint.
Status	Includes a list of options to indicate the status of the chief complaint.
Frequency*	Includes a list of options to indicate how frequent the chief complaint occurs. The frequency option in the list enables you to select exact frequency of the chief complaint.
Severity	Includes a list of options to indicate the severity of the chief complaint.
Duration*	Includes the duration option to select the exact duration of the chief complaint.
Change since last visit*	Includes a list of options to select the status of the chief complaint since the last visit.
Quality*	Includes a list of options to indicate the quality of pain due to the chief complaint.
Associated Symptoms*	Includes a list of options to indicate associated symptoms related to the chief complaint.

Pediatrics Dynamic HPI Views

In the Pediatrics specialty, the dynamic HPI template configured for certain chief complaints are mainly based on the non-laterality view as most patients do not have an issue that pertains to one side of the body or the other. Some chief complaints such as fibromyalgia, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and med check include the laterality view to document location and the associated symptoms on one side of the body or other. Gastroenterology Dynamic Parameters

The dynamic HPI template for the Gastroenterology specialty has both generic and distinct parameters available for documentation. Generic parameters are common to all reasons for visit and distinct parameters are specific to the reason. A combination of these parameters provide for complete documentation of the patient's reason for visiting the office on the current encounter. The dynamic HPI templates for the Pediatrics Well Child visit type have both generic and distinct sections available for documentation. Orthopedic Dynamic Parameters

Each dynamic HPI template has a list of sections (for example, family history, lab data, and diagnostic data) with associated findings that you can configure in the Dynamic HPI Config practice template. There are several sections that are common to all of the Orthopedic-related dynamic HPI templates. Note: An asterisk (*) indicates that the section includes a freetext entry option to enter the appropriate data if the desired information is not available.
