Medication Configuration

The Medication Configuration template allows you to configure and document dispensing or administering medications to patients at the practice. You can track and document dispensing while remaining within their current workflows Only medications set up in the Medication Configuration system template can be dispensed or administered on the Order Management template, provided they have also been placed in the patient’s Medication Module. The Medication Configuration template consists of three panels: Medication Dispensing Inventory Modify Additional SIG Instruction Categories Additional SIG Configuration Add Medication Inventory You can add medication inventory to a location. Manage Additional SIG Instruction Categories Panel You can add, update, and remove additional SIG categories. Configure Medications in the Medication Configuration System Template

The Medication Configuration system template provides instructions configure and document dispensing or administering medications to patients at the practice. You can track and document dispensing while remaining within their current workflows. Only medications set up in the Medication Configuration system template can be dispensed or administered on the Order Management template, provided they have also been placed in the patient’s Medication module. When you dispense or administer a medication in the Order Management template, the new inventory count is updated on the Medication Configuration template. Access Medication Configuration Template

A practice can customize the content that appears in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine (formerly NextGen KBM). This section provides access instructions for the Medication Configuration system template. Log on to NextGen® Enterprise (formerly NextGen Ambulatory EHR). From the File menu, select System/Practice Template. The Select Template window appears. In the Show section, click the All option. A list of system templates appears in the System tab. Open the Inventory Management Template

You can open the Inventory Management template from the Specialty Config Home template. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. From the File menu, select System / Practice Template.The Select Template window opens. Select Template Note: By default, the System tab is selected, and preferred templates are displayed on the Select Template window. If the *Specialty Config Home option is not displayed in the preferred templates list, select All in the Show section.All system templates are displayed. Select *Specialty Config Home from the list, and select OK.The Specialty Config Home template opens. From the Specialty System Sidebar, select Inventory Management. Open the Practice Configuration Template

You can use the NextGen Enterprise EHR to open the Practice Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Template Select the Practice tab, and in Show, select All. Double-click Practice Configuration in the list or select Practice Configuration, and then select OK. The Practice Configuration practice template opens.
