Obtaining Test or Code Information for Codes Submitted to the Procedures Module

You can view the test or code information for codes submitted to Procedures module to satisfy a care guideline. When you want guidelines to update based on the codes submitted to the Procedures module, such as visit CPT® codes or billing codes, it is important to note that not all guidelines are updated from the Procedures module alone, and this functionality can vary depending on the NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version and guideline. For instance, vaccines can be partially billed, so immunizations are never updated from the Procedures module. Additionally, it may not be appropriate for guidelines to update solely on billed codes as these are typically not sufficient evidence that a particular test is resulted, nor they are as easily canceled or removed if billed in error or are no longer applicable. Obtain Test/Code Information for Vaccines for Individual Patients (Immunizations Module)

You can obtain the test or code information for vaccines for individual patient using the Order module template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On an encounter for a patient, open the Order module. Select the Immunizations tab. Select the latest date of the immunization for the guideline to map, for example, influenza. Add Visit Code Modifiers

You can add or replace visit code modifiers. After you have calculated or selected a visit code on the Finalize (BH) template, the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine may add modifiers to the visit code based on coding rules. You can also manually add up to two modifiers for each visit code and edit the modifiers. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For a patient record, open a new encounter. Open the Finalize (BH) template. Expand the Evaluation and Management Coding panel. To add a modifier to a visit code, select Modifier(s) under the corresponding visit code, and then select a code from the list. Submit No Charge Claims

Before you begin The No Charge Visit check box is configured by default. You must configure a no-charge code defined in the SIM library using the Manage Procedure Groups and Codes template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Manage Procedure Groups and Codes Practice Template forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Note: The No Charge Visit check box is available only when you configure a no-charge code with the No Charge Visit check box using the Manage Procedure Groups and Codes template. Enter the CPT Codes for Transition of Care Visits

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient and open an encounter. On the Intake template, select an impacted Specialty (Family Practice/Internal Medicine, Obstetrics or Pediatrics), and select Visit Type as Transition into Care. Click the Finalize tab. The Finalize template opens. In the Evaluation and Management Coding panel, click the second Value Code field. A list of service categories opens. Evaluation and Management Coding Click Care Management. A list of visit codes and descriptions opens. Service Item Mstr Select the visit code that represents the complexity and timing of care. Click OK. Upon return to the Finalize template, the CPT code populates the second Visit Code field. Important: You must complete all the fields in the Transitioning Into Care or the Cm Care Transitions template before submitting the charges to the Superbill.
