Obtain Test or Code Information for Vaccines for the Patients

You can obtain the test or code information for vaccines using the Vaccine Orders or Inventory list in File Maintenance. Open File Maintenance. From Master Files > System, select Vaccine Inventory or Vaccine Orders. Review the items in the Vaccine Inventory List. To print a master report of all vaccine descriptions and CPT® codes, select the open menu button, and then select Print. Obtaining Test or Code Information for Vaccines

You can review the test or code information for vaccines using the Vaccine Orders or Inventory list in File Maintenance. Updated CPT® codes for vaccines are published in advance, especially for common or seasonal items like the influenza vaccine. If the information is not available, you can review the Vaccine Orders/Inventory list in File Maintenance to note the vaccines and corresponding CPT codes. For specific patients, the vaccine CPT® can also be retrieved from the Immunizations module. Create Immunization Orders

You can use the Immunizations template to review immunizations for the patient and to create an immunization record. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Immunizations. The Immunizations template opens. Click New. The Create New Immunization Order template opens. Click plus next to Select Diagnosis to attach a diagnosis to the vaccine. In the Select Vaccines section, click Search All to order vaccines. Note: Vaccines can be searched by vaccine name, CVX code, CPT®4 code, or CPT4 description. There is also an option to search all vaccines or only those within the inventory. The Search Vaccines window opens. Enter the vaccine name, CVX code, CPT4 code, or CPT4 description. Select the Search inventory only or Search all vaccines option. Click Find. Obtaining Test or Code Information for Codes Submitted to the Procedures Module

You can view the test or code information for codes submitted to Procedures module to satisfy a care guideline. When you want guidelines to update based on the codes submitted to the Procedures module, such as visit CPT® codes or billing codes, it is important to note that not all guidelines are updated from the Procedures module alone, and this functionality can vary depending on the NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine version and guideline. For instance, vaccines can be partially billed, so immunizations are never updated from the Procedures module. Additionally, it may not be appropriate for guidelines to update solely on billed codes as these are typically not sufficient evidence that a particular test is resulted, nor they are as easily canceled or removed if billed in error or are no longer applicable. Generate a Report of Vaccinated Patients

You can use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR reporting tool to generate a report of vaccinated patients that can be used for tracking purposes. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookupwindow. From the File menu, select Reports > Generate Reports > by Practice.The NextGen Report Filter: Patient window opens. Under Settings List, select Orders. To create an immunization report, select Immunization in the Select Order Type list. To find a specific CPT® code for a vaccine, under Select Vaccine, select .The Vaccine Search window opens. On the Vaccine Search window, select a vaccine and select OK. To create a report of vaccinated patients, in the Vaccine Status list, select Include, and Administered. Immunizations

You can view the a record of immunizations orders for a patient using the Immunizations panel. The Immunizations panel is where you can view a record of immunizations orders for a patient, including status, date ordered, sequence number, and date completed. The immunizations data grid is view-only. All Immunizations must be ordered and managed from the Immunizations module. Orders for Immunizations do not appear in the Recent Orders panel.
