Add Cardiac Device Information

You can search for the cardiac implantable devices and add implantable device information. Before you begin Select the Manual Entry check box in the Device - Card template for the Device/Lead Info link to appear. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Select the appropriate diagnoses from DX1 and DX2. The diagnoses codes have been automatically entered next to the selected diagnosis. Device - Card Click Managing Dr, and select the provider. Click the Device/Lead Info link. The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens. Note: The interface type of the implant has been automatically entered. Select the Device option. Implant Information - Device Click the search icon . Search for and select the required implantable device. The Brand Name/Description, Manufacturer, and Model fields have been filled with the details of the selected implantable device. Document Interrogation Data

You can document the interrogation details of a device. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Select the Manual Entry check box. In the Interrogation Information section, click the Interrogation Data link. The Interrogation Data - Device template opens. Interrogation Data - Device In the Interrogation Data section, do the following: Enter the interrogation date, time, and underlying heart rhythm of the patient. Select the device to be interrogated. The interface type is automatically entered. Enter the symptoms of the patient. Select the dependency of the patient. Enter the life expectancy of the patient. Enter the last interrogation date and the voltage and impedance value of the battery. Enter the type of interrogation and the name of the provider who does the interrogation. Documenting Device Details

You can use the Device link on the navigation bar to document the details of an implanted cardiac device. While documenting the details of an implanted device on the Device - Card template, you must document each cardiac device and each of its associated leads as a unique device. For example, after you enter the details of a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), you must separately enter the device data for the associated device leads. For manually entering the device and interrogation details, you must select the Manual Entry check box on the Device - Card template. Add Lead Information

You can add the details of the lead of the implanted device. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Click the Device/Lead Info link. The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens. On the Implant Information - Device/Lead template, select Lead. Lead information on Implant Information - Device/Lead The interface type has been automatically entered. Click the search icon . Search for and select the required implantable device. The Brand Name/Description, Manufacturer, and Model fields have been filled with the details of the selected implantable device. Enter the details of the lead as follows: Enter the serial number and function of the lead. Select the location of the lead from the list. If the location is not in the list, type the location. Implantable Devices List

To help make better informed decisions about a patient's care, you can maintain a list of the patient's implantable devices that meets federal requirements. Implantable devices must be associated with an encounter. When Enterprise Chart is enabled, the patient’s implantable device details are shared across the practices in an enterprise. The implantable devices list helps you to: Specify that a patient has no implantable devices. Add an implantable device record to an encounter. Edit certain data on an implantable device record, including active and inactive status of that record. Link a device to a historical procedure or remove a link. Handling Medical Procedures and Implantable Devices

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can record the medical procedures associated with a patient, and manage medical device reports within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In Procedures module, you can add, modify, and delete any procedures related to a patient's medical history. The Procedures module also enables you to view who created and last modified any procedure. In implantable devices list, you can maintain a list of the patient's implantable devices that meet federal requirements. The Integrated Equipment module enables you to create and view medical device reports within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In Superbill module, you can create a detailed summary of services provided with procedures, problems, and modifiers linked to each other. The Superbill module also enables you to assign a summary of services to a particular health plan, and subsequently export all the available information to the billing system.
