Manually Calculate for Multiple Births
The multiple births must be manually entered by the practice in the Pregnancy Outcomes template.
- For twins born through NSVD, it is calculated as 1 NSVD. The same applies for triplets, quads and so on if all delivered by 1 NSVD.
- For twins both born by C-section, it is calculated as 1 C-section. The same applies for triplets, quads and so on if all delivered by 1 C-section.
- For twins, 1 born by NSVD and 1 by C-section is calculated as 1 NSVD and 1 C-section. The same applies for triplets, quads and so on if one or some are delivered by 1 NSVD and 1 C-section.
In cases of multiple gestation pregnancies with different outcomes for the embryos fetus(es), the parity is automatically calculated based on the most advanced fetal outcome. Abortions or ectopic pregnancies that are part of a multiple gestation pregnancy do not contribute to parity if there is also a potentially viable delivery. In such cases, you can document a comment to explain the circumstances.
