Add Reminders through the Telephone Call Template

You must use clinical relevant information to identify patients who must receive reminders for preventive or follow-up care. To meet the Quality Reporting requirement and receive a Quality Reporting credit on the Telephone Call template, you must only send reminders based on the patient's preferred time and method of contact. A patient's decision to opt out of reminders can be recorded, and that patient can still be counted toward the Quality Reporting requirement. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the Telephone Call template, expand the Reminder panel. To add the reminders, do the following: Note: If the patient does not want reminders, you can select the Patient declines reminders check box, and then save and close the template. Select a reminder type. In Contact method, select Preferred or Other, and then select a method. In the Sent field, select a date. Enter additional comments related to the patient reminder. Managing the Telephone Call Template

You can record information gathered during a telephone conversation with the patient. You can open the Telephone Call template through the Call/communication link on the Home Page template. Telephone Call You can do the following on the Telephone Call template: Open the Patient Contact Info template to view the patient's contact information and document the patient's support relationships, and pharmacy details. Open the Patient Appointments template to add or view the patient's appointment with a provider. Open the Telephone Summary template to view a comprehensive communication history. Generate the telephone_communication document, which includes a written summary of the telephone call details in runtime. Open the Provider Communication template to document all the details concerning a communication by the provider. Send the telephone_communication document offline. Enter Communication Details

Providers can record call information, communication history, medication, allergy details, and more in the Communication panel of the Telephone Call template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Telephone Call template, expand the Communication panel. Select a communication category link to open the corresponding template. Enter the call information, communication history, medication, and allergy details. In Tasking, select a task priority, and then select Send & Close. The Select Task Recipient window opens. Select a recipient, select Add, and then select OK. Select Save & Close. Select Display, and select a communication category. To send a letter to the patient when the patient cannot be contacted, select the Send letter to patient due to inability to contact check box. A letter indicating the inability to contact the patient by telephone is generated and sent to the patient. View Immunizations and Care Guidelines Protocols

You can view and discuss immunizations and care guidelines with patient through the Protocols panel on the Telephone Call template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Telephone Call template, and then expand the Protocols panel. Note: By default, the Guidelines option is selected. To view and discuss care guidelines that are due within a specific time frame, select the Show due within check box and select the time period. Note: The Show due within check box appears only for the Guidelines option. To view and discuss immunization details with the patient, select Immunizations. The panel name changes to Immunizations. Telephone Communication

You can view and document the communication between a practice and a patient or a patient's representative. Depending on your preference, you can view and document telephone interaction details on the Telephone Call or Telephone Communication template. With the Telephone Call template you can document the reason for a call, add additional comments, and create tasks to assign to a patient's task list. You can access the template from the Template module. Telephone Call With the Telephone Communication template, you can quickly document details of telephone interactions with patients. The template includes the communication component that works seamlessly with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to streamline the documentation process. You can access this template from the Template module for all specialties. NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine ships with the Telephone Call template as the default. Record a Telephone Conversation in the Communication Panel

Select the applicable reason from the left pane of the Communication panel. Click Add. Note: If you want to document only outgoing call details, click the Outgoing Call button. The corresponding template opens. In the template, enter the appropriate details in the Call Information, Contact Information, Communication, Comments and Actions sections. Note: You can use the My Phrases link at the top-right of the Comments field to add comments.
