Pediatric Screening for Well Child

You can document and manage the screening tests and results in the Screening panel. In the Screening panel on the Pediatric SOAP template, you can do the following: Document different screenings for a patient using the screening buttons in the panel. View the patient's screening tests and results from the grid. Remove some of the screening results from the grid. Open the document attached to the screening results, if available. View the lab results for the pediatric patient. Patient Encounter Documentation

You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates to document patient encounters on the visit types associated with the specialties available. The standard office and virtual visit workflow are documented on the following templates: Intake Histories SOAP Finalize Checkout Note: The workflow may vary with some specialties such as ophthalmology, cardiology, and obstetrics. For more information on the template set used to document a specialty, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the associated user guide. Some common features available in a standard visit template set are the Patient Information Card, panel controls, and links from the navigation bar. Using the Intake and Histories templates, a nurse or medical assistant can document the reasons for visit, medication, allergies, social history, and so on. Document Clinical Depression Screening

You can use the PHQ-2 button to document clinical depression screening and a follow-up plan. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Review of Systems panel, select the PHQ-2 link. The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) window opens. Select an option for each question. To open the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) window, select the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) link. The Patient Health Questionnaire PHQ-2 and PHQ-9 links appear in the Review of Systems panel based on the Show PHQ Link setting done on the Practice Configuration template. Viewing Screening Tools

You can document details provided by the patient in all the screening and assessment tools configured by the practice during a patient encounter. Screening tools that appear on the Screening Tools template for a selected specialty in an encounter, vary based on the configuration. When you do not select a specialty for an encounter, all the screening tools automatically appear on the Screening Tools template. You can select the Current Specialty or All option to filter the screening tools on the Screening Tools template. The following indicators appear adjacent to the screening tools and indicate whether the screening tool opens as a template or a website. An asterisk * indicates that the screening tool is used during the current encounter. The letter T indicates that the screening tool opens as a template. The letter W indicates that the screening tool opens a website. Note: You can hide a screening tool that is configured to open as a website. For more information on screening tools l

Documenting Vital Signs

You can document and update a patient's vital signs on the Vital Signs template. You can edit or remove a vital signs record from the Vital Signs grid. The vital signs template names vary based on a patient's age. For an adult patient, the template name is Adult Vital Signs. If a patient is younger than two years, the template name is Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs. If a patient is two years or older, the template name is Pediatric Over 2 Years Vital Signs. You can change a pediatric patient's age to an adult age on the Practice Configuration template. A patient's height and weight fields are used to calculate their Blood Mass Index (BMI). BMI is not available for patients who are younger than two years. You can configure the normal vital signs range. If a patient's vital signs are outside the normal range, a message appears. Documenting Pediatric Patient Encounter

You can use the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Pediatrics specialty templates to document the encounter details for different visit types of a pediatric patient. The Pediatrics User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine mainly focuses on Office Visit, Virtual Visit, and Well child visit types. You can configure the Pediatric Age setting in the Practice Configuration template to display age-appropriate content throughout the Pediatric specialty template set. The common configurations and features available in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine enables you to document the pediatric encounter details in a more efficient way.
