Graphical Exam Tool (GET)

The GET provides powerful, image-driven charting that incorporates regionally specific and highly detailed enhanced visual content with a comprehensive set of views and mapped ICD-10 codes. The tool offers extensive out-of-the-box content including 30 common findings with corresponding Quick Exam defaults mapped to specific findings. The GET allows you to select a finding from the list and click a spot on the image to mark the exact location of that finding. The marked locations are added as a record. When you click any of the links for a finding record, the Dermatology Quick Exams - PE (full skin exam) template opens and you can document additional details of the findings, for example, exam description, management, and plan. You can identify the areas examined on the GET and indicate if the patient expressed a desire for a full skin exam. This capability also exists on the Reason for Visit panel on the Intake template. Template Default for a Finding

The Graphical Exam Tool is delivered with a complete set of findings-based template defaults to use with the Dermatology Quick Exams - PE (Full Skin Exam) template. The defaults enable you to fill the template with predefined data relevant to the specific finding with a single click. You can modify the template defaults to meet your practice's specific need. In addition, if you add additional findings to the GET, you can create template defaults for those findings. Creating at least one template default for a GET finding automatically fills the Dermatology Quick Exams - PE (Full Skin Exam) template with the custom-created template information when you click the grid entry for that finding. When you create two or more template defaults for a specific finding, the system launches a picklist of the template default names so you can decide which template to use. Graphical Exam Tool Annotations

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to: Place annotations on images to document the location of findings. The placement of the annotations is converted into text and captured as an attribute of the finding. The attributes are saved to the patient's chart. For example, a dermatologist can place findings for cancer on an image. The attributes related to each finding can include size, color, location, or description. Attach a finding to a chief complaint or reason for visit. You can attach multiple findings to different reasons for visit. Mark a finding for follow-up and create a to-do task for the finding. Attach an image (photo or drawing) to a finding. The image can be from the provider's file system or from the patient's chart for the current encounter. GET Settings

The Graphical Exam Tool employs user profiles to control how the tool displays details and how aspects of the tool function. You can create and modify user profiles based on the requirements. For NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) is pre-configured with a user profile named derm_exam to meet the dermatologist’s specific requirements. Graphical Exam Tool (GET)

NextGen® Enterprise EHR use templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template.
