Assessments Panel

Encounter Diagnoses and Treating Assessments can be reviewed and updated on the Assessments panel on the PT Finalize template. The Assessments panel functions the same way as the Diagnosis panel on the Home Page and the Treatment Log templates. The Encounter Diagnoses grid displays current encounter diagnoses. The Treating Assessment grid may contain the same diagnoses as the Encounter Diagnoses grid or they may be different. Procedures Panel

The Procedures panel on the PT Finalize template automatically displays treating procedures that were previously documented on the Treatment Panel of the Objective template as having been performed during the encounter. Treating procedures can be reviewed and updated. Options include: The ability to add up to three modifiers, the number of billing units, and the diagnosis code(s) associated with each of the treatment procedure(s) The ability to suppress billing for individual treatment procedure items Note: Billing units related to Medicare billing are automatically calculated based on the Medicare 8-minute rule when you select the Apply Medicare check box in the Payer panel. The Procedures panel displays the CPT code and total minutes spent performing the treatment. The time of like CPT codes is combined and appears as a single row with Total minutes for that CPT code. Payer Panel

The Payer panel on the PT Finalize template displays demographic payer information for the patient. If appropriate, select the Apply Medicare check box to apply Medicare rules for calculating billing units. Document Wound Care Billing Information

The Wound Care panel on the PT Finalize template is where you document billing information for wound and/or incision care performed along with other service items for testing and supplies. The Other Testing section enables you do document billing information for items such as conduction testing, range of motion testing, biofeedback training and prosthetic training. The Supplies section enables you to document billing for the use of rehabilitative durable equipment such as air pressurized beds, specialized wound dressings and specialized hospital beds. Wound Care Open the PT Finalize template and navigate to the Wound Care panel. Click the appropriate field in the desired section and select from the Service Item Master list that appears. The service item description and its CPT code appear in the corresponding fields. Click the first available Modifier field and select the modifier from the picklist. Finalize Template

You can use the Finalize template at the end of an encounter to review the encounter, record and calculate time-based and service-based Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, and associate the appropriate diagnosis codes for billing. This template contains Assessments, Payer, Evaluation, Procedures, and Wound Care panels. Add the Diagnosis for Therapy Evaluation

Navigate to the Evaluation panel on the PT Finalize template. To associate the diagnosis with Therapy Evaluation: Highlight an assessment displayed in the Encounter Diagnoses grid. Click the Dx code field. The selected assessment’s Dx code appears in the field. To clear out all the fields in the Evaluation section, click Clear.
