Order Procedures

You can order procedures in the Cardiac orders panel on the Intake template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click Procedures. The Procedure Order template opens. Procedure Order Select a procedure from the Non-Invasive or Invasive section. Based on the selected procedure, additional fields appear in the Description section. Select the appropriate options from the Description section. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following. To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. To select a scheduled appointment, click Appt. Select a diagnosis from the Diagnosis grid to associate it with the procedure. Depending on the procedure, if required, you can add comments in the Additional Information field. Click Add and then click Done. Order Lab Tests

You can order Lab tests in the Cardiac Orders panel on the Intake template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Labs. The Labs template opens. Labs Select either Fasting or Hold Medication. Select a diagnosis in the grid to associate it with the lab order. Select the appropriate lab orders. Click the Ordered by field and select the physician from the resulting list. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following: To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. To select a scheduled appointment, click Appt. Click Add and then click Done. Enroll a Patient in One or More Clinics

You can enroll a patient in one or more cardiac clinics. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Enroll In. The Enroll In template opens. Enroll In To select a type, do one of the following: Select a Type option. Based on the selection, additional fields appear for the selection in the Description section. Select the appropriate options from the Description field. Note: When you select the OP Rehab type option, it automatically opens the OPCardVascPerRehab window. The list in the OPCardVascPerRehab window needs to be configured in the Template Editor. Once you select an option from the list, it gets filled in the Description field. Click the Exclusions link to document exclusions for medical, patient, and system for patients who do not have a referral to Cardiac Rehabilitation for the Cardiology specialty. Configure Appointment Locations

You can add appointment locations that are outside your practice by location type, such as office, hospital, testing, and lab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open System / Practice Template. On the Practice tab, double-click Card Setup Appt Locations. The Card Setup Appt Locations opens. To associate an appointment location to a type, select a type, such as Office, Hospital, Testing, and Lab. You can select one or more types. In the top row of the APPOINTMENT LOCATIONS template, enter the appointment location details. Appointment Locations Click Add. Create an Obstetrics Referral

You can select the Medications or Immunizations links at any time during the encounter to open the associated module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To select an insurance provider from the resulting list, on the Referrals tab, select the Insurance name field. To learn more about documenting on the Referrals Order template, select any of the informational icons. Referrals Order Enter the insurance policy number in the Policy # field. In the To section, select Obstetrics. In the Provider name field, select to select a name from the Physician list. Select the Location field and do one of the following: Select a value from the list. Select the top blank row to enter a location in the field. To indicate if authorization is required, select No or Yes. To document related details, select the Additional Information link. Document a Physician Order

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then in Patient History, select Open Templates. The Select Template window opens. On the Medical Records tab, select All. Select Physician Orders (BH), and then select OK. Select the program, specialty, and visit type. Note: Only programs that the patient is actively enrolled in appear in the list. You can select <No Program> to create an encounter without a program, and then add the program later. In the Physician Orders panel, document the order details from the patient's physician. Document the applicable signatures from the tasking supervisor or staff. In the Labs panel, document the orders related to the patient's lab, radiology, and immunization. Select Generate Document.
