Create Immunization Orders

You can use the Immunizations template to review immunizations for the patient and to create an immunization record. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Immunizations. The Immunizations template opens. Click New. The Create New Immunization Order template opens. Click plus next to Select Diagnosis to attach a diagnosis to the vaccine. In the Select Vaccines section, click Search All to order vaccines. Note: Vaccines can be searched by vaccine name, CVX code, CPT®4 code, or CPT4 description. There is also an option to search all vaccines or only those within the inventory. The Search Vaccines window opens. Enter the vaccine name, CVX code, CPT4 code, or CPT4 description. Select the Search inventory only or Search all vaccines option. Click Find. Order Procedures

You can order procedures in the Cardiac orders panel on the Intake template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click Procedures. The Procedure Order template opens. Procedure Order Select a procedure from the Non-Invasive or Invasive section. Based on the selected procedure, additional fields appear in the Description section. Select the appropriate options from the Description section. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following. To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. To select a scheduled appointment, click Appt. Select a diagnosis from the Diagnosis grid to associate it with the procedure. Depending on the procedure, if required, you can add comments in the Additional Information field. Click Add and then click Done. Document Doctor Visits

You can document doctor visits by type. For ease of use, you can configure appointment locations on the Card Setup Appt Locations practice template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Doctor Visits. The Doctor Visits template opens. Doctor Visits In Type, select a type you want to document. Note: The NGShare option is available only for those providers who have enrolled in NextGen® Share. You can select the NGShare option to access the Referrals Order template. To select an ordering physician from the resulting list, click the Ordered by field. To select an appropriate reason for the visit, click the Reason field. To select a location, click the Location field. To document a time for the order, do one of the following. To select an option for an appointment, click the When field. Managing Cardiac Orders

You can view cardiac orders, such as doctor visits, lab tests, procedures, enroll in (for enrolling a patient into one or more cardiac clinics, such as a Lipid clinic), counseling, and immunizations on the Cardiac Orders panel. You can also view the pending orders and medication changes. The best practice is to allow only eligible professionals to enter orders and this may or may not include nurses and technicians. The nurses and technicians can use the Checkout template to review and process orders because the patient does not see the doctor at intake. Create Immunization Order from the Vaccine Category Favorites

You can use create an immunization record from the Vaccine Category favorites. For more information on setting up vaccine category favorites, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake - Cardiology template. Click the Cardiac Orders panel. Click Immunizations. The Immunizations template opens. Click New. On Create New Immunization Order, click the Imm tab. Select the appropriate category from the Favorites. Vaccines grouped in the category appear within the selected pane. Create New Immunization Order - Category Select an immunization from the list. Selected vaccines appear in the lower pane of Create New Immunization Order template. Note: If the Review Allergies option is set to Yes, the Review Allergies window opens and allergies need to be reviewed before continuing. Select COUNSELED, if necessary, to document counseling for use of Pediatric administration codes.

Edit Orders

You can view, verify, and process orders that have been placed for a patient. The order types include labs, diagnostics, referrals, office services, surgical procedures, follow-ups, medications, patient education, patient instruction, physical therapy, and immunizations. Note: The numbers beside each order type in the left pane indicate the number of orders in the queue. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. From the left pane, select an order type. Today's Orders In the grid, select a row. To view more details about the selected order or to edit the order, click Edit. Note: Based on the order type you select on the left pane, the application displays the corresponding additional options.
