If no patient group exists, you can create one.

New
and then select
Group Encounter

Click the ellipsis
button.

window opens.

Add Client Names to a Patient Group
From the File menu, select Patient Group. On the Patient Group Search window, enter the Group Name and click Search. Select the desired group and click Open. The Patient Group [Group name] window opens. Click the Members tab. Click the Norton button and then select Add a Member. Type in the last name of the client, and any other distinguishing data and click Find. Double click the patient's name. Verify the Presence of a Patient Group
Family and group psychotherapy visits can only be completed for a client who is already designated as a member of a group in the system. You must first verify the presence of a group and if no groups exist, you can create one. To verify the presence of a group, from the File menu select New and then select Group Encounter. The New Group Encounter window appears. Click the drop-down arrow to select an item from the list of existing groups. Create a Patient Group
You can create a patient group if no patient group exists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then select File > New > Group Encounter. Select . The Patient Group Search window appears. Select New. Create a Group Encounter in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
You can use this procedure to create a group encounter for all patients in a patient group. An individual encounter is created for each member in the patient group. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the main toolbar, select a Service Location and Rendering Provider for the group encounter. From the File menu, select New and then Group Encounter. The New Group Encounter window opens. The Please choose a patient group for the new encounter field defaults to the first group in the list. To create the group encounter for an existing patient group, select the group from the drop-down list or do the following: Select the Ellipsis button to open the Patient Group Search window. Enter Search Criteria and then select Find. In the Matching Records section, double-click to select the group. Edit an Existing Patient Group
For an existing patient group, you can change its name or description and add members to or remove members from it. From the File menu, select Patient Group. The Patient Group window appears. From the Patient Group list, select the group to edit. All available patients appear in the Non-Member Patients section. The patients in the selected group appear in the Member Patients section. Select Edit Group. The Edit Patient Group window appears. To change the group name, enter the new name in the box at the top. To add or change the description, enter the text in the Notes box. Select OK. In the Patient Group window, search for and add and remove member patients following the instructions in Set up a New Patient Group. When you are done, select Save. Select Close.
