Custom DB Picklist Setup

Once you create and save a custom DB picklist, you can use the Custom DB Picklists template to configure it with different properties and then save it with a unique name. Use the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel to manage: Custom DB picklists that use only two qualifiers (Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2). Custom DB picklists that are already associated with a Practice ID. Note: You can tell if a custom DB picklist is associated with a practice ID by looking at the Practice ID column in theCustom DB Picklists template's top grid. Configure a Website to Access Patient Health Information

In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Patient Generated Health setup DB picklist. The selected Patient Generated Health DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Click Configure. The Patient Generated Health Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new care plan data, click the Add New List Items link. The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, click the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. On the Patient Generated Health Setup template, click Add New List Item link. The Add button is available in the Patient Generated Health Setup template. Click Link Type and select the type of link from the following values: Advance Directives Birth Plans Diabetes Management Fitness Living Will Nutrition Type a description in the Description field. Creating and Managing Customizable DB Picklists

The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to create and manage customizable DB picklists that you can associate with any text field in any medical record template in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. For information of how to add triggers, see the Add Triggers to the Fields topic. The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to configure values for the pre-configured DB picklists that are packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, without updating the triggers in Template Editor. Access the Custom DB Picklists System Template

From the File menu, select System\Practice Template. The Select Template template list opens. In the Show section, click All to see a complete list of system-level templates. To access the Custom DB Picklists system template, do one of the following: Double-click Custom DB Picklists. Select Custom DB Picklists and click OK. The Custom DB Picklists system template appears. Commonly Used DB Picklists

The following are examples of the most commonly used DB picklists in the run-time templates: Appointment Room - This opens from the Room field in the Patient Tracking template to indicate where the patient is being seen during the encounter. Appointment Status - This opens from the Status field in the Patient Tracking template to include the status of the patient visit in an encounter. My Instructions - This opens from the fields in the Instructions section on the My Plan template to add instructions for the treatment plan. My Phrases - This opens from the My Phrases link available on many medical record templates to use any available common phrases. Common phrases must be added through the Manage My Phrases/Common Phrases template to appear in the DB picklist. Screening Questions - This opens from the Screening Questions button. Add Website Reference Links to the Corresponding Contagions

In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, select the Contagion reference links.Contagion reference links appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Click Configure.The Contagion References template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new contagion reference link, click Add New List Items link. The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To configure contagion reference links accessible to a specific practice, click inside the Practice ID field and select the appropriate option. Enter the name of the Contagion. Note: You must first add the contagion in the Contagion exposure DB picklist. Enter the Reference URL of the website that provides more information on the Contagion.You can click the information icon to view the purpose of the Contagion reference links DB picklist.
