Create a New Custom DB Picklist

You can create a DB picklist at an enterprise-level or use a practice ID to associate the picklist with a practice, location, and provider. When setting up the qualifiers, remember to provide a relevant caption for each qualifier. These captions appear when setting up custom DB picklist items. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Custom DB Picklist Setup

Once you create and save a custom DB picklist, you can use the Custom DB Picklists template to configure it with different properties and then save it with a unique name. Use the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel to manage: Custom DB picklists that use only two qualifiers (Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2). Custom DB picklists that are already associated with a Practice ID. Creating and Managing Customizable DB Picklists

The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to create and manage customizable DB picklists that you can associate with any text field in any medical record template in the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The Custom DB Picklist system template enables you to configure values for the pre-configured DB picklists that are packaged with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, without updating the triggers in Template Editor. Managing Patient Health Data

You can create and manage a reference to the location of patient health information data using the Patient Health Data template. You can electronically record the details of the patient in reference to the health information data from an external source. You can open the external page using the Access Link field. You can open the Patient Health Data template from the navigation bar that is available for all specialties. The Patient Health Data template includes the Open to Add/Update panel. By default, the Open to Add/Update panel is collapsed. When you expand the Open to Add/Update panel, the panel name appears as Close Add/Update. Patient Health Data You can open the Patient Generated Health setup template on the Custom DB Picklist template and configure the page required to open the Patient Health Information (PHI) stored on external sources. Configure a Custom DB Picklist

In the top grid of the Custom DB Picklists template, highlight the custom DB picklist that you want to configure. Do one of the following: If a custom DB picklist uses only Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, it is managed from the Step 2 Add/Edit List Item panel grid. If the custom DB picklist has more than two qualifiers, the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel is collapsed and the Configure button appears to the right of the panel label, skip to step 3. Note: If you want to customize a care plan DB picklist for a specific practice, you need a record in the names table containing the selected practice ID. Click Configure. The Custom DB Picklist Setup template opens. Click Add New List Item link to add a new list item. The fields above the grid become available for documentation.
