Create a New Custom DB Picklist

You can create a DB picklist at an enterprise-level or use a practice ID to associate the picklist with a practice, location, and provider. When setting up the qualifiers, remember to provide a relevant caption for each qualifier. These captions appear when setting up custom DB picklist items. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. For information of how to add triggers, see Add Triggers to the Fields. From the top panel of the Custom DBPicklists system template, click the Add button. The Custom DB Picklist Create and Define window opens. In the Custom DBPicklist name field, enter a unique name. Add Triggers to the Fields

After creating a custom DB picklist in the Custom DB Picklists system template, you can add triggers to a text field on any template using Template Editor. This enables you to open the newly created custom DB picklist to select a value for the field. In Template Editor , create a copy of the template to be modified and save the new copy with a unique name, as detailed below: Open Template Editor from the Application Launcher. From the File menu, click Open. The Open window appears. In the Template name field, enter the template name to be modified. Click Open. The template opens. From the File menu, click Copy Template. The Copy Template opens. In the Template name field, enter a unique name for the template. The format for naming the file is XXX_Filename, where XXX is the system's abbreviation to identify the template. Click Make Shared. Click Copy. A copy of the template opens in Template Editor. Configure a Website to Access Patient Health Information

In the Custom DB Picklists template top grid, select the Patient Generated Health setup DB picklist. The selected Patient Generated Health DB Picklist appears in the DBPicklist Name field. Click Configure. The Patient Generated Health Setup template opens with pre-configured data in the grid. To add a new care plan data, click the Add New List Items link. The fields above the grid become available for documentation. To associate the custom DB picklist to a practice, click the Practice ID field and select the practice that uses the care plan data. On the Patient Generated Health Setup template, click Add New List Item link. The Add button is available in the Patient Generated Health Setup template. Click Link Type and select the type of link from the following values: Advance Directives Birth Plans Diabetes Management Fitness Living Will Nutrition Type a description in the Description field. Custom DB Picklist Setup

Once you create and save a custom DB picklist, you can use the Custom DB Picklists template to configure it with different properties and then save it with a unique name. Use the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel to manage: Custom DB picklists that use only two qualifiers (Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2). Custom DB picklists that are already associated with a Practice ID. Note: You can tell if a custom DB picklist is associated with a practice ID by looking at the Practice ID column in theCustom DB Picklists template's top grid. Edit Custom Behavioral Health Picklists

The Custom Picklist Setup system template is a depository of picklists that can be modified to fit your needs on fields in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates in run time. The Behavioral Health section includes several picklists that are customizable at the system level. From the File menu, click System/Practice Template. On the System tab, set Show to All and double-click Custom Picklist Setup to open the template. If you have never used this template before, click the How to use this template link to open the information window. Picklist Customization The customized template is used to add or edit values in Template Editor.
