Configuration of Medical and Family History

The configured templates appear when you add a medical history or family history on the Medical/Surgical/Interim panel and Family panel. The configurations apply to Specialty, Practice, and Provider. Medical / Family History The following templates are examples of which you can customise using the Medical / Family History panel. Access the Framework Content Template

You can access the Framework Content system template from the System \ Practice Template tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Click All. Click Configuration Home. From the navigation bar, select Framework Content, and then click OK. The Framework Content template opens. Access the Configure, Medical, Surgical, and Family Hx System Template

To configure a system level medical, surgical, and family health history content, you must access the Configure Medical, Surgical, and Family Hx system template. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, click the File menu and select System/Practice Template. In Select Template, click All to view a list of system templates. Select Configure Medical, Surgical, and Family Hx from the list and click OK. The Configure Medical, Surgical, and Family Hx template opens. Set Up Links

You can use the Framework Content system template to configure the links. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Template Window Select the System tab. In the Show section, select All. A list of templates appear. To open the Framework Content template, double-click Framework Content. Select from the Specialty and Practice lists. In Tabs, do the following: Select from the Template and Visit Type lists. Enter a value in the Caption field. Select a template in the Template field from the list. Select Add. The Tab details are added. In the Tabs grid, select a row. The application lists associated links in the Sub Navigation section. In Sub Navigation , do the following: Select the Tab Name. Enter the caption and template details in the Sub Nav 1Sub Nav 2, Sub Nav 3, and so on. Select Add. A new link is added. Document a New Family History

You can add the family history of a patient from the Family category in the Family panel on the Histories template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template and then expand the Family panel. In the Family panel, select Add. The Family Health History template opens. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR fills Specialty field with the current specialty. The available conditions for the specialty appear alongside a check box on the Family Health History template. To indicate that the patient does not have any family history, select the No family history of check box. In the Relationship field, select a description from the Family relation list. In the Family member name field, enter the name of the selected family member, and do one of the following: If the family member does not have any condition that can be reported, select the Alive and well option. Document the History Review

You can document the review details of a patient's history in the generated encounter document. You can also document the review status of medical, surgical, family, and social histories on the template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Histories template, select the History Review link. History Review The History Review template opens. In Med/Surg/Interim Hx, Family, and Social, select the applicable option. Detailed document enables you to view all the details entered in the Histories template in the encounter document. Reviewed, updated enables you to indicate that you have reviewed and updated the patient's histories. Reviewed, no changes enables you to indicate that you have reviewed the patient's histories but made no changes. History unobtainable enables you to indicate that the information is not obtainable and enter the reason in the corresponding field. Select Save & Close.
