Configure the Medical and Family History

You can configure the windows that open on adding a medical or family history on the Medical/Surgical/Interim panel and the Family panel. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Medical/Surgical/Interim panel. In the Medical History Popup list, select a template. In the Family History Popup list, select a template. Configuration of Panels

You can configure panels using the Framework Content system template. You can configure the following panels on the Framework Content system template. Reasons for Visit Physical Exam Review of Systems Medical / Family History Procedures Medical Chart Default Visit Specialty Client Button Configuration Assessment / Plan Navigation Configuration Client CheckBox Configuration Configuration of Reasons for Visit You can configure up to 14 chief complaints in the Reason for Visit panel. Configuration of Physical Exam Lists You can configure the physical exam lists using the Physical Exam panel. Configuration of Review of Systems Lists You can configure the systems listed in the left pane of the Review of Systems panel. Histories Template

Patient history information is documented on the Histories template for a new patient, and reviewed and updated for an existing patient. Histories Patient's Problem List You can manage a patient's problems. Patient's Medical History The Medical/Surgical/Interim panel enables you to document the medical or surgical history of the patient. Patient's Diagnostic Tests and Results You can document a patient's diagnostic tests and the associated results. Patient's Family History You can document the family history of the patient in the Family panel on the Histories template. Copy Configured Histories to Different Specialty/Practice

The Copy Histories panel enables you to copy the configured medical, surgical, and/or family history from a Specialty and/or Practice to another Specialty and/or Practice. Access the Configure Medical, Surgical, Family Hx system template. Expand the Copy Histories panel. In the Copy from section, select a Specialty and/or Practice. Select the Type of configured history that you want to copy. In the Copy to section, select a different Specialty and/or Practice. To clear the selections and start over, click Clear. Click Copy. Family Health History Conditions

The Family History panel enables you to select the applicable family health history conditions for a specific specialty and/or practice. The family health history conditions are configured in the Condition and Management Configuration panel. For information on how to configure conditions, see Condition and Management SNOMED Codes.
