Add Triggers to the Fields
After creating a custom DB picklist in the Custom DB Picklists system template, you can add triggers to a text field on any template using Template Editor. This enables you to open the newly created custom DB picklist to select a value for the field. In Template Editor , create a copy of the template to be modified and save the new copy with a unique name, as detailed below: Open Template Editor from the Application Launcher. From the File menu, click Open. The Open window appears. In the Template name field, enter the template name to be modified. Click Open. The template opens. From the File menu, click Copy Template. The Copy Template opens. In the Template name field, enter a unique name for the template. The format for naming the file is XXX_Filename, where XXX is the system's abbreviation to identify the template. Click Make Shared. Click Copy. A copy of the template opens in Template Editor. Select the desired field. Right-click and select Triggers. Review and modify the trigger

Add Items to the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist
You can add the screening questions in the Custom DB Picklists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select the Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items found in the DB picklist. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Step 2 Add/Edit List Item Select a DB picklist name screening_questions from the list that opens and select OK. Use the edit fields below the Add/Edit List Items grid to create the item. A list of required fields and the information they contain can be found in the screening questions DB picklist required fields. Select Add to add the item to the DB picklist. Configure Categories for Virtual Visit Types
You can configure category lists for virtual visit billing. You can add service categories and codes to this category list. Before you begin In Service Categories in File Maintenance, you must add the necessary service category. Service Categories List Note: For more information on how to add or modify the service categories, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest File Maintenance Master Files Guide forNextGen®Enterprise. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Under Show, select All. A list of system templates appears. To open the Custom DBPicklists system template, double-click Custom DB Picklists. The Custom DBPicklists system template opens. In Dbpicklist Name, select Virtual Visit categories. Create Custom Health Promotion Plans
You can create a custom health promotion plan. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Template Data Sets Setup template. In Plan Type, enter a label for the kind of plan you want. In File Maint. Dx Category, enter a disease category set up in File Maintenance. In Label for Value, enter a label that you want to search. Select the data tables and data fields that you want to retrieve values from. In Lo Value and Hi Value, enter low and high values. In Units Value, enter the type of units to display. In Other DBPicklist Name, select up to 10 custom lists. Note: The Developer, Funding Source, and Reference Updated fields support clinical decisions. You can enter the developer and funding source names in the Developer and Funding Source fields respectively. When you add the configuration details in the other fields, Reference Updated automatically fills with the current date. Select Save. Add a Custom DB Picklist Item for Recommended Care
You can add a custom DB picklist for recommended care guideline using the Custom DB Picklists template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. A list of custom DB picklists currently in the system opens. Step 2 Add/Edit List Items Select a DB picklist name from the list. Use the edit fields below the grid to create the item, and then select Add to add the item to the DB picklist. Add a Value to a Picklist
Make sure the picklist you want to edit is highlighted in the Picklists grid. Select the Value field to the right of the Picklist Values grid, and then enter the name of the new value. Grids in the Template-Based Picklists section Select the Show in EHR checkbox (if it is not selected, you will not see the option in the picklist). Select the Add button.
