Configure a Custom DB Picklist

In the top grid of the Custom DBPicklists template, highlight the custom DB picklist that you want to configure. Do one of the following: If a custom DB picklist uses only Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2, it is managed from the Step 2 Add/Edit List Item panel grid. Custom DB picklist If the custom DB picklist has more than two qualifiers, the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel is collapsed and the Configure button appears to the right of the panel label, skip to step 3. Note: If you want to customize a care plan DB picklist for a specific practice, you need a record in the names table containing the selected practice ID. Click Configure. The Custom DBPicklist Setup template opens. Custom DBPicklist Setup Click Add New List Item link to add a new list item. The fields above the grid become available for documentation. Create a New Custom DB Picklist

You can create a DB picklist at an enterprise-level or use a practice ID to associate the picklist with a practice, location, and provider. When setting up the qualifiers, remember to provide a relevant caption for each qualifier. These captions appear when setting up custom DB picklist items. Note: For a new custom DB picklist, you must create triggers on the corresponding fields in the Template Editor to open the DB picklist. Before you can edit triggers on the field, you must copy and save the template with a unique name that will not be overwritten the next time you upgrade NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. For information of how to add triggers, see Add Triggers to the Fields. From the top panel of the Custom DBPicklists system template, click the Add button. The Custom DB Picklist Create and Define window opens. In the Custom DBPicklist name field, enter a unique name. Add List Items to a DB Picklist

From the top grid, select the row of the DB picklist. The selected DB picklist details populate the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Note that: The Show selected DBPicklist option is selected to display the associated list items. The Show Only Editable Rows option displays the values of the custom DBPicklist that can be modified. Click Add New List Item link. The Get Dbpicklist Names list opens. Select the appropriate DB picklist name and click OK. Upon return to the Custom DB Picklists template, the List Item field at the bottom of the panel is enabled and ready for input. To customize the DB picklist for a specific practice, location and provider, select the relevant Practice ID, Location Name, and/or Provider Name. Note: By default, list items retain the options set for the DB picklist. If you select a Practice ID, Location Name, or Provider Name, the new list item is only available for the selected practice, location, or provider. Once you create and save a custom DB picklist, you can use the Custom DB Picklists template to configure it with different properties and then save it with a unique name. Use the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel to manage: Custom DB picklists that use only two qualifiers (Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2). Custom DB picklists that are already associated with a Practice ID. Note: You can tell if a custom DB picklist is associated with a practice ID by looking at the Practice ID column in theCustom DB Picklists template's top grid. Review and Update the Custom DB Picklist Used by Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests

On the Custom DB Picklists system template, in the Step 1 section at the top of the template, locate and select the DB picklist oph_dx_setup_category in the grid. In the Step 2 section, select the option Show selected DBPicklist (above) found above the grid. The Step 2 section grid displays items found in the DB picklist selected in the Step 1 section grid at the top of the template.
