Configuring a Default Template Configuring a Default Template Templates in the Available Templates list are listed using their display name. The Default Template list is used to select a preferred template to open, and lists templates by their formal Template Editor name. default template field Note: In Preferences, the Default Template field list of templates displays the formal names used in Template Editor. This name is different from the user-friendly display name seen in run-time. Display names are seen in the Templates Available list in the section above the default template fields. In Template Editor, you can cross-reference the display name of a template to its formal name by selecting to search for a template using its display name when you open a template. When you select both a default medical records template and a default demographics template, the patient chart opens to display the demographics template. Configure the Default Procedure Page for a Practice

You can setup a practice-level default procedure page on the Default Settings panel of the Common Procedure Configuration practice template. You can also setup an alert to appear, when provider adds the procedures to patient history. The alert prompts the provider to enter the date of surgery and surgeon name. Document Historical Cardiac Procedures

You can document historical cardiac procedures administered to patients. The application adds these procedures to the Order Management with status as completed. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To open the Cardiology Procedures template, click the Procedures tab. On the Cardiac Procedures panel, do the following: To open a specific procedure, click the procedure category link on the left side. Select the procedure you want to document. Click OK. On the Date PopUp window, do the following: Select the date on which the procedure has been completed. Click Accept. If the default month and date are set as 01 and 01 in Practice Configuration and if you select the procedure year as 2015, the procedure completed date is filled as 01/01/2015. Enter the procedure details. Click Accept in the corresponding procedure window. The procedure has been added in the Cardiac Procedures grid. Configure Option for Ambulatory Surgery Center Section

The configuration in the Ambulatory Surgery Center section applies to the Ambulatory Surgery specialty. This section enables you to set the time format in the Ambulatory Surgery templates. Configure a Default Medical Records Template

Open the Preferences window to the Templates tab. From the Tools menu, select the Preferences submenu and then click the Templates tab. Click the Template Type field and select Medical Records from the list. Note: To set a default Demographic template, select Demographic. Click the Default Template field, and select the template from the list of templates available in the system. Select the Open from Work Flow Appts check box to open this template by default from the Inbox Appointments section. Click Apply. Click OK to close Preferences.
