Procedures Panel

The Procedures panel on the PT Finalize template automatically displays treating procedures that were previously documented on the Treatment Panel of the Objective template as having been performed during the encounter. Treating procedures can be reviewed and updated. Options include: The ability to add up to three modifiers, the number of billing units, and the diagnosis code(s) associated with each of the treatment procedure(s) The ability to suppress billing for individual treatment procedure items Note: Billing units related to Medicare billing are automatically calculated based on the Medicare 8-minute rule when you select the Apply Medicare check box in the Payer panel. The Procedures panel displays the CPT code and total minutes spent performing the treatment. The time of like CPT codes is combined and appears as a single row with Total minutes for that CPT code. Document Wound Care Billing Information

The Wound Care panel on the PT Finalize template is where you document billing information for wound and/or incision care performed along with other service items for testing and supplies. The Other Testing section enables you do document billing information for items such as conduction testing, range of motion testing, biofeedback training and prosthetic training. The Supplies section enables you to document billing for the use of rehabilitative durable equipment such as air pressurized beds, specialized wound dressings and specialized hospital beds. Wound Care Open the PT Finalize template and navigate to the Wound Care panel. Click the appropriate field in the desired section and select from the Service Item Master list that appears. The service item description and its CPT code appear in the corresponding fields. Click the first available Modifier field and select the modifier from the picklist. Coding Procedures

You can view all procedures, diagnoses, and modifiers that need to be billed for the current encounter to finalize a visit. The coding grid on the Finalize Visit template displays the following items that need to be billed for the current encounter. Procedures Diagnoses Modifiers Orders for durable medical equipment (DME) that are dispensed by your practice The following details are displayed for each item in the coding grid. Visit type Billing status of the procedure Description of the procedure to be billed Primary diagnosis codes after it is been coded Modifiers Code being sent for billing Coding grid on the Finalize Visit template The billing status is displayed as Coded for the items that have a diagnosis code, and the billing status is blank for the items without a diagnosis code. After you submit the charges, the billing status is displayed as Submitted for all items in the coding grid. Document Procedure Billing

On the Finalize template, go to the Dermatology Procedure Billing panel. Select Show Dermatology Charges only. If you select Show All Encounter Charges, any general procedures entered also appear in the grid. The dermatology procedure details are available in the grid. Double-click the dermatology procedure details in the grid. The Procedure Billing template opens. Update the information, if required. Click Save. To add another set of procedure billing details, click Clear For Add. When you have entered all the required procedure billing data, click Close. The data appears in the data grid in the Dermatology Procedure Billing panel. To verify the charges, click the Verify Charges button. The selected Charges verified check box appears. To prevent the charges for the encounter from billing, select the Surgery Hold check box. To process the charges, click Submit To Superbill. Bill a Procedure

Click Procedure and select a procedure from the list. The list includes procedures selected in the current encounter. A list appears to select a procedure description associated with the code. Select a description from the list. The procedure description and the associated procedure code appear in the Procedure description field and CPT code field respectively. Click Dx Description 1 and select a diagnosis. The associated diagnosis code appears in the Code field. If applicable, enter a diagnosis in the Dx Descriptions 2 through Dx Descriptions 4 fields. Click Add. The documented procedures appear in the grid. Note: The diagnosis selected in the Dx Description fields uploads in the Today's Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template. To remove an entry from the grid, highlight a row in the grid and click Remove before submitting charges. Click the Verify Charges button. The Verify Charges button hides and the selected Charges verified check box appears. Click Submit to Sup

Add a Diagnosis Code for Diagnosis

Click OK on the alert message. Select the procedure billing details in the grid. The data appears in the corresponding fields above the grid. Do one of the following: Click the Dx Description 1 and select the diagnosis code from the list. Click Cancel on the list. The diagnosis search window opens. Search and select the required diagnosis. The selected diagnosis and the associated code appear in the Dx Description 1 and Code fields respectively. If applicable, repeat the above steps for Dx Description 2 through Dx Description 4 to add additional diagnosis. Note: The diagnosis selected in the Dx Description fields uploads in the Today's Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template. Click Update. If you add additional data in the grid, the Verify Charges button appears in the Procedure Billing panel. Note: If the value is not associated with a procedure code, then the system uploads the default procedure billing code available for each procedure in the Procedure Documentatio
